Greetings From The Silverton! TR from 2/4 to ???

Wait until I get to my Friday report. HOLY TOLEDO!!!!

So tired from playing until 3 am, so you'll have to wait!
A good friend of mine refers to the waitresses as "tittiebirds"
Sorry to take so long continuing my TR.

THURSDAY DAY 7 2/10/11

I'm going to keep this day short since it was a lousy day with not much happening. Hit a number of 4 AOK's, but wind up giving most of it back. For the past two nights, we've been eating at Twin Creeks at the bar as they now have Topas. My favorite is the meatballs, but they also have dates wrapped in bacon as well as other goodies. Price really aren't bad as the meatballs were only $6.

Loss for the day being close to $1600. Ouch!

FRIDAY DAY 8 2/12/11

Playing VP after breakfast produced mix results. While hitting just enough 4 OAK's to keep us "balanced" for the early part of the day. But nighttime was a different story!

We had plans to eat at the Seasons Buffet since it was Friday and it was time for their usual Seafood Buffet. There was going to be 7 of us, but at the last minute, her son wanted to invite a friend who was visiting him at his fathers house. Her son and GF was still staying at the Silverton as we kept on extending his stay. Anyway, that now made it 8 of us.

Everyone actually arrived on time. I went to the cashier to pay for all of us. After I got done charging it to the room, the cashier notified me that there would be an 18% GRATUITY ADDED TO THE BILL!!! Now I can understand a "normal" restaurant charging the 18% because most of the time it's a group of individuals splitting the bill, and you know how that works. People figure out their bill without adding the tax and a tip. The last man paying the bill gets the short end of the stick and winds up paying more than his far share. But paying 18% at a BUFFET is ridiculous. All the server is doing is serving you your drinks and hopefully picking up the dirty dishes....if you're lucky. And whether I was paying for it, or the hotel was picking it up, the charge was really pissing me off. But the meal was really delicious and everyone was having a good time.

As I was finishing dessert...chocolate cream pie....Faye suggested that I return to the machines we had saved at the center bar to make sure no on would take them since it was a Friday night and things got busy on a Friday night. So I left another $5 on the table and I returned to the center bar and started playing.

I took the reserved sign off my machine...2nd from the left.....inserted my card and started playing. When I first arrived at the Siverton the previous Friday, I had a point balance of 127,000+. I now had about the same balance BUT, I had redeemed 100,000 points for a Bass Pro Shop $100 gift card.

I started playing BP, but as my normal pattern, I switched back to DDB. As I've mentioned before, this was a trip of 4 Aces, and surprisingly, most of those were on DDB for an $800 payout. I was dealt out a hand of bookend Aces, with the As and Ah as the bookends. When I hit the draw button the first card to pop up was the 3d....followed by two of the prettiest Aces I've ever seen in my life...Ac...Ad. FOUR ACES WITH THE KICKER!!
YAHOO!! YOOWZA YOOWZA!!! A $2000 payout!! Boy that got the balance sheet back in order. At just that moment everyone was returning from the buffet as I was waiting to get the hand pay. They looked at the machine and couldn't believe it. I collected my money...paid out my tips and got ready to play again. At this point the family was getting ready to leave. We said our "goodbyes" and returned to our machine to start playing again.

Faye was getting tired after a while, and she had done well by hitting two 4 OAK's, and was ready to head upstairs to bed. After I came back, I decided to pick up from that machine and head to the High Limit Salon. Her son and GF said they'd meet me back at the center bar later on that evening.

We had one session so far at the HLS, and that's because we were "forced" to play there. Seems that on Thursday night, Zappos....the online shoe company was having a comapny party at the Silverton. Whe we came down to play Thursday evening, we could hear abnormal noise coming from the casino as soon as we got off the elevator. The Super Bowl crowd wasn't as loud as this group. But the worst part was , we couldn't even get close to the bar.....and that meant ANY bar in the whole joint...even Mi Casa whcih we thought would be our only out! When we reached the Mermaid Lounge, one of our favorite bartenders, David, said he would clear two seats for us as we were the gamblers and they weren't. But what was the use, as the crowds would still be there, and I wasn't in the mood to have people pushing and shoving me so they could try and order their drinks from the bar. After all, these drinks were for FREE, and I couldn't blame them for getting all they could. But, NO THANKS, we would look for greener pastures.

So I said to Faye, let's go to the HLS. After all, there were no bars there so we wouldn't have anyone leaning all over us trying to get drinks. So we played there for a while. I hit 4 5's right away playing dollars and decided to "kick it up a notch" and selected the $5 option.

I played BP, and after hitting a few full houses, I changed to DDB hoping for the BIG kill. No matter what $5 game you were playing, the progressive jackpot now sat at $27,700. I missed hitting the big one 3 times. I got up as high as $1200, but when no 4 OAK's appeared, I slipped back to $500 and decided to cash out while ahead. Meanwhile Faye had hit 2 4 OAK's and she cashed out also.

In the Friday session, nothing much happened and I was bouncing back and forth in $$$ and games. I had never tried Triple Bonus or Triple Double Bonus before so I took a shot at each. Pretty nice to hit 4 Aces w/kicker for 4000 coins or $20,000 playing a $5 machine. YIKES!!! But 3 OAK only paid 10 coins. I had one shot at a Royal that night when I got dealt out 4 to the Royal. But the fifth card never appeared. I took my loss of about $600 and headed back to the center bar.

Since it was nearing 1am, the bar was pretty dead, except for those that were drinking their "all you can drink Stellas" to get their moneys worth. I got back my seat..2nd from the left....and checked to see if the progressive jackpot was still intact. It was, and nearing $6200. After playing a few minutes, her son joined me at the bar. It was now three hours since I hit that beautiful 4 Aces w/kicker. Hitting that $6200 royal would just be icing on the cake. Even though the Royal was that high, I kept switching between BP and DDB. I still like getting paid those big bucks for the 4 A's, 2-3-4's. Sure enough, on DDB, I hit 4 Deuces for a $400 payout. I now had $450 on the meter when I got dealt, 10-J-Q-K of spades. I was explaing to her son that I needed the As for the Royal Flush and $4000. The Ace s was needed right in the middle, and when I hit the draw button....up popped the ACE OF SPADES!!! HOLY TOLEDO!!! It may not have been the $6200 one I really needed, but it sure didn't hurt!! YAHOOO!!!!YOOWZA YOOWZA!!! There was really no sense in playing much longer but I wound up playiing until 2 am and went upstairs to bed. Wound up a +$4400 that day/night. Now the whole trick would be hanging on to it until it was time to go home which was planned for Tuesday although it's now scheduled for Wednesday.

I'll be back later as it's nearing 2:15 pm and since she found another Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Lake LV. I'll be making the trip alone since she's really not feeling well today and her legs are really swollen. If she was back in Calif., she'd be in the hospital already as she feels she going into a serious heart problem. But she doesn't like the hospitals out here, and refuses to check in. We just might be checking out today after all if she gets any worse. She's sleeping now and I hope the rest helps her out.

Nice TR Bag...Hope Faye is feeling better poor thing has really had a rough year.

Sulobo9142I,
I believe the progressive was for Bonus Poker, and BAGIANT hit his Royal on DDB.

BAGIANT,
Great Trip Report.

Looking forward to the next chapter.

I hope the GF is better today.

Thanks for taking the time to write and share.

Sulobo9142,
Some machines have a progressive on a certain game, but then when you switch to a different game the progressive goes away.
That's what I believe is the case here.

This is where it first appeared:
"For those of you that don't know, or remember, the bar $1 jackpot is progressive on Bonus Poker only."

Hope this helps.

Rick
I will be staying at Silverton for a couple of nights in April. I plan on checking out the progressive pot at the bar. I'll be sure to make sure I check out the the payout schedule when i select my games. Good heads up. I could see me hitting a Royal and getting 4k and asking WTF happened here .I thought I hit the progressive. I am sure it has happened before.

I was at a lottery agency here in Mass. collecting on a $2,000 hit on a scratch ticket . the guy in front of me was fighting with a woman behind the counter . He thought he won thousands on a ticket . He mis read the ticket . There were 2 lines of numbers and each line had it's own winning number . He thought the winning numbers were good for both lines. Ouch.
