Just when I thought she was getting her life straight, I get a collect call from the 77th Precinct jail last Sunday. My phone was on the charger, and I missed her call on Sunday and Monday. Didn't take me long to figure out who was making the collect call.
But guess what...it wasn't for a DUI or a drug charge...it was for "commercial burglary"!!! WTF? After I picked up the messages on my voice mail and figured out who it must be calling, I tried to get her room mate to see if he heard anything. I couldn't reach him at first, and it's hard to talk with Faye around, but I finally went out to do some process serving last Sunday, so I gave him a call. He had just returned from a two week trip to Florida, and according to him, he returned to a NIGHTMARE! I had given Star an gorgeous pair of gold earrings on loan, and when things got tough, she pawned them. He had gotten them out of pawn for her and he locked them up in a closet with other valuables for safekeeping. But apparently, even though I sent her $50 via Western Union, she wound up breaking into his closet with a crowbar, and pawned them again with some other valuables no less.
He then tells me that his bedroom was a mess with condoms lying around and some sex toys all over. That broad sure loves her sex! He told me that she left their apartment on Friday night with 3 loads of laundry that she was going to clean. He said she got into a car with someone he had never seen before and took off to do the laundry.
I found out on Monday that she had gotten arrested on Friday night...make that midnight on Saturday for commercial burglary, and she was due in court on Tuesday. Her bail was now $70,000 which was $20,000 for the commercial burglary charge and $50,000 for her failure to appear in Barstow for her former DUI. Remember that one? That was in August of 2011 when I rented her a car and she got picked up for a DUI coming back from Calif. She blew 0.00 on the breathalyzer but apparently according to the blood test, there were drugs in her system. SURPRISE SURPRISE! The Avis car got impounded to the tune of $1,000. At least I got back the money from her from that fiasco. She didn't show up for the court date even though I tried to call them at 5 am to make sure they made it to the hearing. I feel she could have beaten the rap if she had shown up for the hearing. Remember, I had taken her there few months before to make here pleading and she was supposed to show up after she pleaded not guilty.
I wasn't about to put up $7,000 for bail, so she could rot there as far as I was concerned. I just can't believe this woman. I assume that she really wasn't the the one that thought this thing up, but was with a person(s) that was committing the crime and she was an accomplice.
Joke of it is, I had just sent her my laptop a week before because hers had shut down. Now this guy wants to hold my laptop for collateral for the money she owes him. That's not really going to work as I told him that she owes me more money that he could ever dream of from the past.
I wound up calling back the 77th Precinct to find out what her latest status was after her court hearing. They couldn't give me any information because the computer updated the info between 24-72 hours. I assumed that she was being returned to Barstow for her outstanding warrant, but so far, they have her in the Linwood Century detention center. Who knows where she is going next. When they're in jail down here, you can go to the "Who's In Jail" website and find out all the info you need, as well as being able to email her, and send her all kinds of "goodies" to her in jail like breakfast items as well as hygiene products and cash. Not so in L.A. as far as I know.
Worst part is that she was planning to come down here to see me and I would be getting some "nukkie" for a change. But at this point in time, I'm ready to wash my hands of her. I just can't believe that she just can't stop getting into trouble and I have to keep on bailing her out of trouble. Not this time. I'm not putting up 7k to get her out of jail. I could get a lot of "nukkie" for that kind of money.
I would imagine, not that I know for a fact, that she is going to be sent to Barstow for the outstanding warrant, and will wind up being in jail for about 6 months. But that's just my guess, and it doesn't include the commercial burglary charge which she'll probably do more time.
Well, I'm heading to Vegas on Sunday, and I really can't worry about her problems. I'm sure she'll probably try to call me when I'm there....collect no less....and who knows if I can take her call with Faye around. I already called her Dad to let him know what's going on with her.
Isn't it great that the forum will finally have something to talk about? I mean what's the LVA forum all about if we don't have a thread about Sharlene? Trip report to follow when I get to Vegas.
