I don't know if this story is true or not, but it is fascinating. This is a story about how four people hacked the random number generator on early video poker games. I think you will enjoy it.

I did a quick Google search and found several articles mentioning Alex Mayfield.

Take a look at page 7 of your document, and it shows the shadow card system. It was because of this hacking that the machine makers went to the sequential deal and then continuous shuffle methods and threw out the shadow card systems.
that was a great read. Interesting but the Ron Harrises of the world get caught . The industry hires hackers just for this reason. Microsoft has been doing it for years.
