Anybody else remember this?
Yes indeed. There have been gambling syndicates that attempted to purchase all the tickets of a lottery. Below is a Virginia example. That was in a lottery with a lower number of combinations. It would be very difficult to do this with Mega...unless you had a huge organization purchasing tickets around the clock.

I remember this, we had just moved to the NO.VA. area, it was pretty big news then. I'm surprised that they din't mention dart drug, they cleared a big chunk of those tickets. I remember dart drug because they were Thee first big drug store in this area, before cvs, walgrenn, any others and it was started by the Haft family, well the old man anyway. He ran with that and started trak auto, another first big time car parts store, then a chain book store and a few other things. It was quite the empire the old man started, THEN, it all started to unravel, it become a regular soap opera. From what i remember, he relinquished some control to his 2 sons and then the mrs. got irked. I think he issue of his will came up somewhere and it got prety nasty, something like mom and son against dad and other son, then allegiances switched and then switched again, or something like that, anyway, everything fell, dart drug fell, they had to sell trak auto and so on. I think one of the sons still has total wine, but i'm not sure how big it is anymore.
Boy!,hows that for a story? I just thoght of it because of dart drug and remember that i did find it amusing, after all, I had just taken a leap of faith and moved from W. VA to the big city(well, suburb anyway) of our nations capital, all this stuff was new to me.
