A Happy Gambler [ ! ! ! Las Vegas Related ! ! ! ]

"The unusual final-play touchdown in the New York Giants' 32-18 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pushed the score over the betting total and cashed a four-team parlay that paid $80,000 at Las Vegas sports book operator CG Technology."

The interested reader, if any, can see a video of the subject play which resulted in a $20,000 ticket paying $100,567.28 at ESPN

His parlay comprised:
__the money-line on the Jets to WIN
__the Titans/Saints to go OVER
__the money line on the Patriots to WIN
__the Giants/Buccaneers to go OVER

The lucky fellow covered his OVER wager by ½-point after the clock had gone to zero and the Giants ran a "fumble" into the end zone.

(DonDiego doesn't quite understand why he got paid 4-to-1, given the odds shown on the betting slip. An explanation would be appreciated.)

The Patriots and the Jets were big favorites - so the payout was only 4-1
He got paid 4 to 1 and 5 for 1. In sports betting, the preposition is important.
I figured it out:

Jets payout = 1,91
Titans/Saints payout = 1.30
Patriots payout = 1.06
Giants/Buccaneers payout = 1.91

1.91 X 1.30 X 1.06 X 1.91 = 5.03

$20,000 X 5.03 = $100600

It seems to poor old DonDiego that adding the Patriots at -1600 to a 3-team parlay is not a good idea. But, on the other had, . . . HE WON !
