TO ALL WHO SHALL SEE THESE PRESENTS, GREETINGS.......
Or so the proclamation went on draft notices back in the day. At any rate, I wanted to wish all of you a safe and happy 4th. As all of us go about the day planning picnics with friends and family, watching fireworks all across the country, or just enjoying a quiet day of solitude and reflection, may we ALL remember the sacrifices of those, including our "Founding Fathers", who pledged their "lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor" who made the difficult and agonizing decision to break from England in the face of tyranny and dare to establish a new, independent country. Remember, too the many man and women, present and past, who have fought to protect our liberties. Most of all, we need to remember, as Mr Lincoln said so well, we have "a government of the people, by the people, and for the people,' and our elected officials must be held accountable for their actions, and called to task when they fail to listen to the voters who put them in office.
May each and every one of you enjoy a safe holiday, and if you are traveling, I wish you safe journey home.
Captain Bill
