HBO kicked off a new season of Hard Knocks by following the Houston Texans tonight. If "F" bombs offend you, then you do NOT want to watch this episode. I thought the series is still cutting edge.

In this episode, we got a great introduction to JJ Watt and his work ethic. Vince Wilfork was picked up as a free agent. He played middle guard for the Patriots last year. While he is somewhat of a fireplug and hard to move, he doesn't really look to be in game shape. Jadeveon Clowney is in rehab and due back in a week or so. Clowney is an incredible talent, but may be injury prone. The Texans also have a very gifted linebacker in Brian Cushing.

The Texans lost their stud running back, Arian Foster, to a groin injury. It appears he will need surgery.

The huge question for the Texans will be their quarterback. Right now they have two contenders, Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett. Neither one has established a favored position.

Bill O'Brien, the head coach, is a very good motivational speaker.

I don't believe any team on Hard Knocks has ever gone far into the NFL playoffs.

You would not believe who narrates each show.
