Harmon Killebrew RIP

Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew passed away from cancer. RIP
Yeah i saw that! RIP Harmon!
Harmon could hit a ball out of any park, including Yellowstone.
Rest in Peace.
One of the all time greats ! Rest in peace HK.

RIP Harmon. I remember watching you play when I was a kid.
I collect vintage baseball cards. I only collect vintage cards because I prefer to look at the faces of people who could hit 50 home runs in a season without shooting up with roids before the game. I've got five Harmon Killebrew cards...and I got to shake his hand once at a nerdy card collector convention.

Nice guy.
Killebrew used to be the answer to a trivia question. Who had the most plate appearances without a sacrifice bunt? Answer: Killebrew with nearly 10,000 trips to the dish until Frank Thomas broke the record a few years ago.

Killebrew wasn't in the game to bunt.
I used to have a Harmon Killebrew bat. Might still have it somewhere. Wonder what it's worth if I still have it.

Just read today that the MLB logo guy is Killebrew.

Killebrew being the guy on the logo is speculation. He says he was, the creator said he wasn't. No one seems certain.
What is certain is he is the guy on the logo for the Alumni Association.
Another interesting tidbit good for a bar bet or two- Killebrews first appearence in the bigs was as a pinch runner. As wasn't exactly fleet of foot, I'd love to know who it was he ran for.
Harmon never hit 50 HRs in a season. What he did do was lead the majors in HRs for the decade of the 1960s- a time when Aaron, Mays, Frank Robinmson and many other Hll of Famers were in their prime.
It was shocking to me how quickly he died. Cancer is a horrible disease.
