But what I can't understand is why the casinos tolerate advantage play with video poker???
Regardless of what the actual Law says, in the eyes of casino bosses, dice influencing or card counting is a form of cheating. In the casino mindset, regardless of what the law says or intends. And they are usually quick to "ban" players with the "skills" to offset the casino advantage. They "know" it's not cheating, but consider it so because you are attempting to "steal" their money by not playing the game fairly. They don't want the skillful player, they just want their "fair share" of all money wagered.
There are many "examples" of VP AA's being banned. Was it Jerry's Nugget that banned players during a promotion not long ago? And many casino's quietly "revoke" player club points for VP from known AA's, or remove the player from receiving mail offers, etc.
But there are many VP players who think that they know perfect strategy thus making them AA's, when in reality they are not. Coupled with the fact that casino's need and want bodies, they may decide to let someone "get away with it" because that person only takes a few dollars. They may prefer the extra "body" to give the illusion of being busier than they are. But that AA may not be receiving mail and offers that bring the other players in, so it probably is a "wash" for them.
