Harrah's info

I am staying at Harrahs for the first time at the end of March. I would like to be far away from carnival court. What should I ask for at check in? I was also offered an upgrade to an executive suite for 49 per night and was wondering if that was a good deal and if the room was worth it. Thanks for the help.
I can't answer your question, however I like Harrahs. Lots of folks slam it, but while it's not the Wynn it's plenty nice. I believe those slamming it just want to act wealthy.
Haven't stayed Harrah's in a long time, but a room in the Mardi Gras tower will insure that you aren't overlooking the Carnival court (is that even still there?). I forget the name of the other floor, but a high floor there would also probably take care of the noise problem.

The executive suites are very nice and on high floors, so that would reduce the noise potential (have stayed in exec suite x 2 and no noise at all). They are actually true suites with actual separate bed room and living rooms, baths, etc.

If traveling with someone else, or entertaining friends, the $49 per night might be worth it.

If it is just you...well, that is up to you, but it is a lot of area for one human.
If you do not want a room near carnival court, all you have to do is tell the clerk you want a room "away from carnival court". It is that simple.
As mentioned, Harrahs is not Wynn, but it is decent enough. You get what you pay for. Do not expect Wynn luxury and you will be fine.
