Their bitch is that there might have been a day I used only the free play.
Yep, and that's the problem. You fundamentally misunderstand what free play is all about. It's not a reward, it's not a trophy, and it's not a cookie. It is designed to get you back into the casino to play it off plus invest your own money. In your case, it didn't work out that way, and Harrah's analytics reacted.

Much bigger players than you know to always put in their own money when they pick up their free play. Maybe you should learn from them.

I disagree, it's absolutely a reward, just as cash back is a reward. There should be no strings attached. CZR's F'd up big time here..really big time, Alans been a pretty big player for a long time I believe, cutting him off over 80 bucks is a HUGE MISTAKE, imo, and if he wins on the 80 bucks, why in the world would he want to put his own money in?

John, you know I love ya', but darlin', you are wrong. Free Play and everything else they give us is in no way a reward, though they want it to feel like that with their fancy congratulatory letters. It is ONLY to keep us coming in and playing/losing money to them. I'm sure you've ready my CET story, I was getting nice Free Play for years, but during one 4-5 month period when my play was minimal, my Free Play dropped like hot rock...as in from $400 to $25. It was no accident, no oversight, just their Excel program showing a drastic change in my play within a time frame, and...busted! Despite my loyalty to CET for some 20 years. Yes, I'm greedy and happy to accept what they give me when I give them my hard earned dollars, but I don't see any of it as rewards. Just carrots. Love ya!
I enjoy the comments.

It doesn't matter if you view the free play and bounce back as a reward or just an incentive to play more. The bottom line is this: during the month in question there was one day, or maybe two that I only played my free play. I was getting $80 of free play each week. But on other days during the month I played about $400,000 of coin-in.

The question really is this: must you play your own money ON THE SAME DAY that you use the free play? Clearly had I put the $400,000 of coin-in on the same day that I utilized the free play this "cut off" wouldn't have happened.

Now honestly -- is someone at Rincon a stupid idiot or not for cutting off $80/week of free play for a player who still put through $400,000 of coin-in a month?

Frankly, if that "free play" manager worked for me I'd fire his idiotic ass because what he did was this:

He took away 4 X $80 of free play a month with an expected value of $320 X 99.17% = $317.44

and he lost a player who was worth $400,000 of coin-in per month with an expected casino win of $400,000 X 0.83% = $3,320.

Rincon's management might not fire him, so I "fired him" by pledging NEVER to play there again.

Up your ass Rincon.

You're so mean...I've never been so rebuffed in my life, hmph!

This isn't to side with the casino, but why would you travel 2.5 hours each way just to use $80 in freeplay? Wouldn't it be more cost effective for you to get in a sizable block of extra play after going through the freeplay?
I have clients and do business in temecula which is a short drive from Rincon. On those days I would stop in just for the free play or to download the free play for another visit. They didn't like that I did that. It seems they wanted me to make EVERY time I set foot into the casino a four hour session.

Obviously when I did "play" I would play for a long time.

There were also a couple of times during the past few years when I only played my free play and hit some big winners and left. Once I hit AAAA in Royal Aces Bonus on free play which paid $4,000 (same as a royal).

By the way, as of today still nothing from Rincon, any manager or my host -- and they haven't seen me back either.
They just don't care anymore about anyone
Question for MoneyLA? Which casino(s) do you now patronize instead (if you don't mind me asking)? Other than the card casinos which do not have slot/video poker machines.

Harrah's Resort Southern California also known as Harrah's Rincon cancelled my free play offers for September (worth about $80 per week) because I played sessions using only free play, or downloaded free play, without playing any actual cash. This was done despite that during the months in question -- in other sessions during the month -- I had more than $400,000 of coin-in recorded by Total Rewards.

It appears that the head of free play doesn't want players only to use free play -- and that you must also play with cash -- or your account will be targeted and free play will be cut off.

The most insulting part of this -- and my own host couldn't understand it -- was that $80 of weekly free play was cut off for a player (me) who had $400,000 of coin-in for the month. Where's the logic in that?

I'll answer my own question: there is no logic and it's absolutely stupid. But it shows just how small minded bean counters are.

This is a childish retaliation against a Seven Stars player who used free play when available and didn't open his own wallet on certain days. But it was a stupid retaliation because by cutting off $80 per week of free play, this Seven Stars player (me) has been insulted and alienated to the point that he won't return. Yes -- cutting off $80 of weekly free play just cost Rincon a player who on an average visit would put $50,000+ of coin-in on video poker.

Keep counting your beans.

First off, welcome back MLA, I've always enjoyed your postings.

Secondly, wow, unbelievable. A seven star player cut off because of peanuts. It's players like you who bitch anout the absurdity of the nickel and diming that maybe they'll (the bean counters) hear and realixe that alienating players may not be such a great policy.
I think you're the second 7 star player who's giving up on CZR's this year, sionow being the other.

Make it three. I've been a 7 Star for 3 years and my free play including offers has been gutted. The coup de grace occurred in June. I arranged my usual suite in the Forum tower with my relatively new host. (My former host was promoted and transferred to Kansas City.) No issue with the room arrangements. Arrived at check-in and CET agent said suite was not available and could not do anything for me. I ended up in the casino host offices where my host was contacted on the phone. Denied suite I had been staying for 2 years. Fired him on the spot. I say this to indicate what a crap company CET has become. CET outright told me when I arrived home I do not qualify for a suite in Vegas. I'm done with CET.

Hi. I play very little at the card casinos in LA. Once in a while I will go to Commerce. Once in a while means once in two or three months. I play their $100 no limit hold'em game.

Until recently I was 100% Caesars Palace -- but then I get a big "come back" offer from Bellagio -- went there and had a great time. I wrote about it on my own website and even did a video comparing the bathroom at Bellagio with what is now offered at Caesars. Caesars has cut back on the bathroom essentials.

If you're interested see: https://alanbestbuys.com/id240.html

I have another trip booked for Bellagio at the end of the month and the free play offer from Bellagio is more than I would get out of Rincon in three months. And this free play offer is only 20% of what their "come back" offer was.

Now what is most interesting is this:

I didn't play that much at Bellagio when I went there on the "come back" offer. I played less at Bellagio over three days then what I would play at Rincon in ONE NIGHT of video poker. I even won at Bellagio getting the SMALL bet once at craps and the Small, Tall and All bet on a second time with the dice. After my trip I was afraid to call my new host at Bellagio fearing he would be disappointed with my play. But ironically he called me to say my play was very good and he could get me another 3-night free rooms with free play. NEVER did a host at Rincon even offer me any extra free play even after nights when I would put on 5,000 or more tier points ($50,000 or more coin-in).

So now Bellagio will get more of my visits.

I do have some things to "collect" from Caesars including my $500 annual dinner credit, a $500 7 Stars Experience credit, plus Great Gift Wrap Up points which should be worth more than $1,000 of Shell gas cards IF THEY HAVE THE GAS CARDS AGAIN!! Last time I looked there were no gas cards listed on the Great Gift Wrap Up website.
