Harrah's Rincon Million Dollar Drawing

Was anyone there on New Year's Eve and do you remember the winner's name or know the person? There are "questions" about the drawing since the winner did not have to be present to win and so far Rincon says they have not reached the winner. And now there is word that Rincon will keep the money if the prize isn't claimed in ten days.

I was there, but didn't hear who won the drawing, in fact I mentioned to my boyfriend that I didn't hear any sort of announcement. I figured since no one walked up to me with a huge check with my name on it, it wasn't me.
What a scam this could turn out to be. No announcement of winner and harrah's keeps the money if no one claims it? WTF is that all about. Saw their billboards announcing the drawing here in North County. Someone has to win! They announced this thing about a year ago.
Bagiant... you are correct. The entire promotion said someone WILL win one million dollars. Also remember that this contest was open to the public: if you signed up for a free Total Rewards card you got one free entry. They did add a wrinkle late in the promotion by saying you had to "activate" your free entry by swiping your card in the week prior to the drawing -- but no bet was ever required which kept it legal under the California lottery laws (and the Indians are not exempt from the lottery laws).

I will add some of the info I posted on my forum:

There are now conflicting reports from players at Rincon who were told that there would be a secondary drawing if the winner does not claim the prize, and that the prize money will be forfeited to Rincon if the winner shows up. Rincon meanwhile has been silent about this on its Facebook page which surprises me.

I can't understand why they wouldn't at least put on Facebook who the winner is?

And then a Rincon player called me a short while ago to say that when a promotions employee showed him the name on a sheet of paper, that a supervisor said he should not have seen it and blocked him from taking a photo of it. He said it was a long name with about fifteen characters in both the first and second names.

Perhaps the winner is waiting to have his/her name be public information?
The casino now says on its Facebook page that the winner has been contacted and the big announcement will be made this week.
Sure it will!
Well Bagiant if they don't have the big presentation and announcement that would be quite a story, wouldn't it? But I think it's pretty much over now.

I think they handled it wrong... but it will all be forgotten once they hand the big check to the lucky player... as long as the lucky player isn't a member of the Rincon Band of Indians.
No doubt it's a 7*'s player. I had 50,000+ entries and can't believe I didn't win...lol.

I'll break the news lightly to my friend Bo Li.
