Harrah's Total Reward question.

Bill Ryan also posted that his offers went DOWN. And if you do it too often your offers won't be worth taking.

We're not talking about your offers STOPPING with some light days, we're talking about your offers going DOWN -- and maybe to the point that you won't want to use them anymore. And if you stiff them a few times in a row your offers most likely WILL stop.

A couple of light days will lower your daily average. That's just MATH. If YOU want to do that, fine, but don't put it out there like it doesn't matter and give the wrong impression to those that it MIGHT matter to!

What is wrong with you that you just can't admit you don't know what you're talking about, Money? You're clueless.
I guess it all depends what kind of offers you look for. All I really care about are free nights. A free buffet is nice, and $15 in free play is certainly better than $5, but the free rooms are what matter to me. Those offers just keep coming for me, heavy play, light play, no play.
I'm pretty sure my ADT was never all that high so its not something I'm all that concerned about. Other people think their ADT is the end all, be all. I suppose they get the sort of offers that they worry about losing. I read of people getting $250 or more in free play and gift cards and such. Those I also would not want to lose.
I think we would need to know what kind of offers the OP was recieving before anyone can give the correct answer. Some who is low gold has less to lose then someone who is a hi level Diamond, no?
Most people also care about WHERE those free nights are offered. I know not long after I got my Diamond card and built up some reward credits, I was doing things like just running my freeplay through the machine and leaving with my profit, taking mom to dinner for mothers day at the Jack Binion steakhouse and not playing much that day, and at the time, we could still see out ADT's online and mine was down to about 20. Until I put in some serious play locally to bring that number up, the only rooms in vegas my free nights were good for was Flamingo or Ballys South Tower. I could still get 5 comped nights monthly, but Caesars was gone. That was not that many low play days either. When you don't go every single week, a few low play days can wreck your offers
Bill Ryan -- I agree that if you're fine with just getting a room comp anywhere in the system and you can use weekday offers then it really probably doesn't matter.

However, I want weekend offers, good free play or gift card offers, and tournaments with higher payouts ONLY on the weekends. Unless I'm diligent about protecting my daily average I am not likely to get those offers.

I don't like the fact that MoneyLA is giving bad info to people who might be new to this system and not understand how it works. With the correct information about a system everyone can make their own choices based on what THEY want to get out of it.

If you take ANY offer now (online room comp, room offer, event offer) you'd better play or you will definitely show a NO play trip. Playing low looks better than not playing at all (low trip as opposed to stiffing them), but both will hurt your daily average.

Bottom line -- if it matters to you what your future offers are you need to play at your normal level. If it doesn't matter to you, low play or stiff away. Your offers will go down or eventually stop.

Thanks Mare! That is what I was thinking might be the case.

Just to revisit the OP. If you are getting one thousand tier points a day you are playing ten thousand dollars of coin in at VP and five thousand and slots. So of course you should always play with your card.
If your daily average is 1000 tier points per day and you plan on PLAYING 1000 tier points or more, then yes, you should definitely use your card.

If you normally do 1000 tier points in a day and you only plan on playing 100 tier points then NO you should NOT play with your card (if you care about your average). That will definitely dilute your daily average and will effect your comps in the long run.

Money obviously likes to hear himself talk (so to speak). I actually care that people here know how to manage their comp account so they don't screw themselves out of what they're entitled to -- or at least get what their play deserves.
but I don't think it can be good for his average if he stays for a few days and puts zero play on his card either. And I think that is what the original post was asking anyway.
Mare, let's talk about averages for a minute.

Obviously the OP is not a "small player," not with coin-in in the range of 5,000 to 10,000 per day. If he makes 6 trips a year at 3-days per trip, that's 18 days with total coin-in ranging between $90,000 and $180,000.

Now, let's say three of those 18 days have ZERO play. That will reduce his total coin-in to $75,000 to $150,000.

Now, since I am not involved in the marketing department at Caesars, please explain to me the degree of difference there is between a player that is worth $90,000 vs $75,000, or, $180,000 vs $150,000.

Is there really that much of a difference?

And, if he is checking in and using the hotel comp, isn't it a bit strange that he doesnt use his card and shows ZERO play? Are you telling me that using a hotel comp with ZERO play is WORSE than using a hotel comp with just a little play?

This post has been very interesting but a little off base. I understand that low play on my card will affect my overall status, but the question was would a hotel stay trigger a no play day on my card or would it not be linked to my players card to trigger a casino visit. I guess I really knew that no one would have a definite answer unless they worked for Harrahs, but thought someone might have some inside info. Anyway, I guess I just won't risk it. Thanks for the info. I was glad to see Karen ring in. She's my hero, I think she knows all.
