Harrah's Total Reward question.

So Ledhead, do you have another option for a free hotel stay? If so, is it with another player's card?

Why wouldnt you take advantage of a free hotel stay while you have it? We never know when "players club benefits" will change.
Not to stir the pot, however, I thought they use a trip average not daily average in Vegas.
If checking into the hotel triggers a trip, then 3 days of no play out of 18 will lower one's daily average.

I used to obsess over this. No more. My play is what it is and my offers are what they are.
Money -- your daily average is not your daily coin in average, it's your daily THEO (theoretical loss to the casino). And yes, if you have no play days or trips it is definitely going to dilute your average. There's really nothing difficult about this. We come back to the point that you like to hear yourself talk. Make sense of it or not. I'll try to help those that want to be helped, but you are clueless.

Ledhead -- in one of my posts I stated that you used to be able to book JUST a room comp and if you didn't use your card for anything (to play or access your comps) you would not be tripped. However, that is not the case anymore.

Lisa -- I don't believe that to be true in Harrah's system. They call it something different now (market value worth, or some such nonsense), but it's still your average daily theoretical loss to the casino that they're looking at for comps.
Actually I like what MissL777 said and its what I do. My play is what it is and my offers are what they are. And I'll add one more: take em while you got em.

It's what I do, too. However, being smart about it gets you better offers. And to be smart about it you need to know how the system works.

I'm confident that I'm doing things in a way that will benefit me the most.
Thanks Mare. Like a chameleon, CET (HET) is always changing.
You are worse off using a comped room and playing NO play (on your card).

Checking in and doing SOME play even if lower than your normal amount is better.

You go there with 6000 tier points, leave with 6300, at least its play, rather than NOTHING.

You could have had a cold run and lost your bankroll quick. Its better than nothing.

awwwwwww..........

but if you are planning on gambling at all, you should take the free room, IMO. just put all the play you do giv them into one day
To be sure, call a host and ask them.

How do you know this is the case? I'm not saying it is or it isn't, but I'm curious how you can say for certain. Did Harrahs announce this or is it just inferred by looking at peoples offers and such. I was under the impression Harrahs went to great lengths to keep the system obscure and unknown.
