Has anyone used hotel self check-in kiosks?

Curious if anyone can share experiences with hotel self check in kiosks. For Thanksgiving weekend I'll be staying at Flamingo Las Vegas and intend to use the self check in kiosk to avoid possibly long lines. I'm a lowly gold card holder so the self check in sounds appealing to me.
I did it at the Riviera a few times and every time I was given a garbage room so I went to the counter and got a better one.

My conclusion was that at the counter people can see what the rooms are and select the best ones. The kiosk just picks anything that's available so it increases your chance of getting something you won't like. YMMV.
Same here we used them at the Flamingo Las Vegas and ended up with a room way at the end of the hall. Then they locked us out after two nights when we had reservations for three.
We used one once at Harrah's AC with no problems.

It was mentioned B-4. IF you have special needs, don't do it! Stand in line.
Close to the elevator, non smoking,a little refer,handicapped/disabled equipped.
I'm not picky and don't care. A room is a room. I used one once, maybe twice a few places. No problem. I just want a room and don't care where it is. As long as non smoking. Rooms will or will not have issues. Luck of the draw in life. You have to go get an adjustment. Happens.
