Has Obama bothered with visiting southern flood victims?

Not a soul has mentioned a word about missing GWB in this thread, only pointing out that he caught all kinds of hell and obama hasn't shown up in LA.

Really? SO what is the minimum required deaths for a presidential visit? 50? 100? What if five of those people were your family forky, would you feel any different then? Maybe it's a 1,000 min. for a visit?

You've said some really stupid shit through the years, this is is the top ten for sure.

Why is this so difficult to understand: The Michelle forbids The Obama from going, because He is on vacation.

From CNN:

Amid historic devastation in Louisiana, the state's largest daily newspaper is calling on President Barack Obama, who is being kept abreast of the situation by White House officials, to cut his Martha's Vineyard getaway short to view flood-ravaged areas of the state.

"A disaster this big begs for the personal presence of the President at ground zero," read the editorial published in The Advocate on Thursday. "In coming here, the President can decisively demonstrate that Louisiana's recovery is a priority for his administration -- and the United States of America."
"The President's vacation is scheduled to wrap up on Sunday. But he should pack his bags now, and pay a call on communities who need to know that in a national catastrophe, they are not alone," read the column. "The President's presence is already late to this crisis, but it's better later than never."

Obama has been loath to interrupt his vacations for public appearances, however, and said during a Monday night fundraiser for Hillary Clinton that first lady Michelle Obama typically insists he avoid working.
"Michelle is very strict about me actually taking a vacation when I get a vacation," he said. "She gave me a special dispensation for this evening because she understands, just as all of you understand, how important this is."

So, . . . The Michelle grants "special dispensation" to The Obama to attend a political fundraiser for The Hillary. Presumedly The Obama is awaiting a dispensation to permit him to travel to Louisiana.

DonDiego expects it to be granted. Were this The Obama's first term, She would've already granted the disposition.

Not enough people have died, just ask forky.

I'd rather he phoned in orders for real help instead of 'appearing'.

Exactly which county or slice of dry land would he appear in, and how does that help first responders, rescuers, etc.

Will he paddle out and bring some people to dry land?

Will he work to repair their homes?

Will he hand out money? Will he stop some of those important "lives" from looting stores? Will he even go on record condemning the looting?

No. He is a lame duck president and he isn't going to cut back on his vacation to go to Louisiana where he can't do a damned thing to help anybody.
The best he can do is authorize some real assistance, and double quickly.

Oh, and California is burning...did anybody see that? And the flooding in Texas?

I'm not a liberal and the POTUS is not on my fan list (few have ever been). I just happen to think it is silly to go ape over a MEDIA REPORT of the POTUS not showing up at disaster sites.

Bring in the big guys prepared for rescue, bringing food and water and shelter and some people with information to the victims about what kind of help (including financial)they can expect and when. That's what people need. Naturally, there are many who believe the government is responsible for everything (including natural disasters) and putting everything right for you.

But is he wearing an American flag lapel pin?

Current flooding: 13 deaths
2015 Utah floods: 20 deaths
2015 Texas Oklahoma floods: 46 deaths
2014 Oso mudslide: 43 deaths
Katrina: 1836 deaths

Did the a president show up for all of the above? I don't know and neither does anyone else here without some serious googling. But the only reason our over-emotional participants here pretend to care about the current flooding is that it looks so Katrina-ish. And we were soooooo unfair to poor President Bush.

The color of those dead is quite important for this president. Black folks are much more important than white folks.

The homeless number here is close to 40,000 homes. I don' think the ones you mention above involved that many homeless.

The current disaster only looks like Katrina if you magnify it 10X. Katrina displaced 400,000.
How many deaths does Forkie believe that need to take place for Obama to drop his golf clubs and get on an airplane to visit the disaster area? I truly can't believe how stupid your argument is.
