Has Obama bothered with visiting southern flood victims?

Too bad boilerman's September trip cancelled. Anytime is Ghetto Walk Time. Of course if we continue on our path of borrowing and debt, any walk will be a Ghetto Walk..

...Edwards said Trump's visit to the state was positive for Louisiana.

"Because it helped to shine a spotlight on Louisiana and on the dire situation that we have here, that it was helpful," he said.

John Bel Edwards. Democrat. Governor of Louisiana. And now...according to Forkush....Sometimes Stupid.
Nope, just playing politics to benefit his constituents. The state of Louisiana is about to ask for disaster funds from Congress and it wouldn't pay to dump on the Republican presidential candidate at this point. Want to know why Chris Christie hugged the President after Hurricane Sandy? Same thing.

Of course the National Review called that hug "The Night Chris Christie Killed the Romney Campaign." On the other hand, Trump's appearance will be remembered for the Play-doh. Once again it's the difference between smart and stupid.

So Mary Landrieu and John Bel Edwards are either lying political hacks or stupid cheerleaders...
Nope, they're politicians. Dumping on Trump would have accomplished nothing politically - Louisiana is a very red state - and making nice will probably increase the chances of the receiving adequate federal funds for the recovery. Which will keep the governor's constituents happier, healthier, and in some cases alive. All in return for uttering a possibly insincere conciliatory statement. Heaven forbid!

I'll take an effective politician over a political independent any day. Politicians actually try to accomplish things, albeit sometimes in messy manner. Independents just stand back, do nothing, and criticize all sides in a lame attempt to be superior. An especially lame attempt in your case, alanleroy.
Ah yes. Never even considers that two Democrat politicians could sincerely believe that Trump's visit helped the state and were simply being honest and thankful and not stupid cheerleaders or cynical politicians...
I never said the Governor was a stupid cheerleader. He asked Mr. Trump and President Obama not to show up and interfere with efforts, and when Trump showed up anyway, he made the best of it. Yes Trump ignored the governor's concerns about the safety of Louisiana citizens, and yes, Trump helped focus the media a bit more on the situation. The Governor behaved honorably, Mr. Trump did not.

"LA Gov. to CNN: "You mischaracterized what I said, you got the story backwards"
Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards says "I didn't dismiss his trip as a photo-op. Before he came down I said we welcome him here"

Once again Forkush got the story backwards..Just like CNN.

You got the story backwards. We welcome him here.
Ah, back to ghetto walk discussions.

The entire thing started after LVA Liberal rants about how it's terrible to generalize about people. I argued that we all generalize about people, to which Forkie claimed bull shit....................claiming that he never generalize about people. I suggested that he walk the black ghetto to prove that he doesn't generalized about black people. Several Libs on this site then argued that I must then walk a white ghetto, to which I said "hell no". I have always admitted to generalizing about a group of unknown people based on that groups tendencies, and this keeps me away from all ghettos. An employed white man in a white ghetto is in slight danger..............don't go there. An employed white man in a black ghetto needs to run like hell............absolutely don't go there.

Forkie proved I was correct when his generalization about people kept him from walking the black ghetto. He was generalizing about black people, or poor people, but he was generalizing about a group of people.

Oh, I had to chuckle when I was cocktailing yesterday with this site's PJStroh, and Dom called inviting me for a drink.

Not true. You argued in favor of profiling Blacks, and since I disagreed you challenged me to do a ghetto walk. I agreed, if you would do the same in a lower income higher crime primarily white area.

I forget your excuse for refusing - did you have to do your hair that night?
Anyway, back to Las Vegas...

The governor asked that Mr. Trump not just visit Louisiana for a photo-op, and then Trump just visited for a photo-op. However the governor was gracious and thanked the Republican nominee, and that should help him get additional millions that his constituents will need to recover.

Effective Democratic and Republican politicians who like to actually accomplish things respect that kind of behavior. Independents, who mostly like to feel superior to both parties, are just clueless.

"You got it backwards. I said we welcome him here". Again Forkush gets it backwards.. Did Trump "interfere with responders" as forkush claimed? Obviously not or the press would have been all over it. Merely a political attack...as always.

Perhaps the governor really appreciated the focus Trump's visit brought to the plight of his state. Maybe that's why he called the visit 'Helpful'...not a 'photo op'. He also said he appreciated the phone conversation he had with Mike Pence who he called 'sincere and genuine'. Why does a nice comment a democrat makes about the opposition have to be 'possibly insincere'? Because you're a partisan hack and just can't bring yourself to admit that Trump did something the Governor and Senator both appreciated and thought was helpful.

I just take Governor Edwards at his word that Trump's efforts were appreciated and helpful. I don't assume he is just another conniving lying politician who only says something for the political juice.. That's why I AM mostly superior....to you...and the clueless people like you.

And that's why more people are turning independent. We can recognize when Democrats or Republicans do something good and aren't completely blinded by their hatred for the opposition. Instead, I praise Edwards for speaking the truth and Trump for helping bring focus on that horrible disaster.

You just attack Trump because he is Republican and forgive Edwards perceived 'insincerity' because he is a democrat. We know. That's just how you roll.

Except all Trump did was have a photo-op. With Play-doh! The exact thing the governor warned against. Making the rest of your argument meaningless.
