Has Obama bothered with visiting southern flood victims?

And when has that done any good. But at least you get to feel superior to both sides, which is the whole point, isn't it?

You know alanleroy, if you want the Shriners to stop wearing those funny hats, first thing you have to do is actually join the Shriners. Likewise the political parties. Standing on the outside and criticizing like an impotent gadfly accomplishes exactly nothing. (Except making you feel superior - did I mention that?) And speaking of impotent gadfly, if you're ever in need of a new user name, I have a suggestion.

Some people just vote for the best candidate....regardless of party...Independents, and many Democrats and Republicans do that. If more people did that instead of acting like blind little rats with an inferiority complex like you, it would be a better country. We don't have to join the corruption to beat the corruption.

Blind Little Rat...Hey if you ever need a new user name....I have a suggestion.

...Edwards said Trump's visit to the state was positive for Louisiana.

"Because it helped to shine a spotlight on Louisiana and on the dire situation that we have here, that it was helpful," he said.

John Bel Edwards. Democrat. Governor of Louisiana. And now...according to Forkush....Sometimes Stupid.
Nope, just playing politics to benefit his constituents. The state of Louisiana is about to ask for disaster funds from Congress and it wouldn't pay to dump on the Republican presidential candidate at this point. Want to know why Chris Christie hugged the President after Hurricane Sandy? Same thing.

Of course the National Review called that hug "The Night Chris Christie Killed the Romney Campaign." On the other hand, Trump's appearance will be remembered for the Play-doh. Once again it's the difference between smart and stupid.

So Mary Landrieu and John Bel Edwards are either lying political hacks or stupid cheerleaders...
Nope, they're politicians. Dumping on Trump would have accomplished nothing politically - Louisiana is a very red state - and making nice will probably increase the chances of the receiving adequate federal funds for the recovery. Which will keep the governor's constituents happier, healthier, and in some cases alive. All in return for uttering a possibly insincere conciliatory statement. Heaven forbid!

I'll take an effective politician over a political independent any day. Politicians actually try to accomplish things, albeit sometimes in messy manner. Independents just stand back, do nothing, and criticize all sides in a lame attempt to be superior. An especially lame attempt in your case, alanleroy.
Ah yes. Never even considers that two Democrat politicians could sincerely believe that Trump's visit helped the state and were simply being honest and thankful and not stupid cheerleaders or cynical politicians...
I never said the Governor was a stupid cheerleader. He asked Mr. Trump and President Obama not to show up and interfere with efforts, and when Trump showed up anyway, he made the best of it. Yes Trump ignored the governor's concerns about the safety of Louisiana citizens, and yes, Trump helped focus the media a bit more on the situation. The Governor behaved honorably, Mr. Trump did not.

"LA Gov. to CNN: "You mischaracterized what I said, you got the story backwards"
Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards says "I didn't dismiss his trip as a photo-op. Before he came down I said we welcome him here"

Once again Forkush got the story backwards..Just like CNN.

You got the story backwards. We welcome him here.
The governor asked that Mr. Trump not just visit Louisiana for a photo-op, and then Trump just visited for a photo-op. However the governor was gracious and thanked the Republican nominee, and that should help him get additional millions that his constituents will need to recover.

Effective Democratic and Republican politicians who like to actually accomplish things respect that kind of behavior. Independents, who mostly like to feel superior to both parties, are just clueless.

"You got it backwards. I said we welcome him here". Again Forkush gets it backwards.. Did Trump "interfere with responders" as forkush claimed? Obviously not or the press would have been all over it. Merely a political attack...as always.

Perhaps the governor really appreciated the focus Trump's visit brought to the plight of his state. Maybe that's why he called the visit 'Helpful'...not a 'photo op'. He also said he appreciated the phone conversation he had with Mike Pence who he called 'sincere and genuine'. Why does a nice comment a democrat makes about the opposition have to be 'possibly insincere'? Because you're a partisan hack and just can't bring yourself to admit that Trump did something the Governor and Senator both appreciated and thought was helpful.

I just take Governor Edwards at his word that Trump's efforts were appreciated and helpful. I don't assume he is just another conniving lying politician who only says something for the political juice.. That's why I AM mostly superior....to you...and the clueless people like you.

And that's why more people are turning independent. We can recognize when Democrats or Republicans do something good and aren't completely blinded by their hatred for the opposition. Instead, I praise Edwards for speaking the truth and Trump for helping bring focus on that horrible disaster.

You just attack Trump because he is Republican and forgive Edwards perceived 'insincerity' because he is a democrat. We know. That's just how you roll.
Except all Trump did was have a photo-op. With Play-doh! The exact thing the governor warned against. Making the rest of your argument meaningless.
All Trump did was bring attention to the scope of the disaster to the praise of Governor Edwards and Former Senator Landreau....oh and toss in 100K for disaster relief.

Mary Landrieu: 'I want to thank Mr. Trump for coming to Louisiana …I hope Sec Clinton will make her way down. I hope President Obama will make a visit.'.

Edwards said Trump's visit to the state was positive for Louisiana.

"Because it helped to shine a spotlight on Louisiana and on the dire situation that we have here, that it was helpful," he said.

Democrats praising Trump helping out during a disaster is something called 'Bipartisanship'. You and your ilk could learn something from Landrieu and Edwards. Nah...On second thought, you're too far gone.

I'm sure Hillary will make it down there....eventually.

He brought Play-doh, posed for photo-ops, and so far hasn't donated a dime - although he did promise $100,000 to Tony Perkins virulently anti-gay church. Because in tough times like these, what Louisiana needs is a little more bigotry.

Trump helped them...according to them. I praise Trump for helping and Edwards and Landrieu for their Bipartisanship in acknowledging it. They didn't have to say a word....but they did. You attack Trump...Because you're a Partisan Hack and that's what partisan hacks do. You insult Landrieu and Edwards by implying everything they do is for political gain. Everyone isn't like you, thank God. It's pretty clear to those of us without an agenda that you're so tainted you're rotting. Those of us who aren't blind little rats with inferiority complexes that is.

Dude, imitation is the sincerest form of plagiarism.

And as far as blinding following leaders, I attended caucuses OPPOSING the establishment Democratic candidate in 2008 and 2016 - Hillary Clinton in both cases. But you knew that, so you were just being dishonest as usual.

My choice in the general this year will be very easy. I will be voting for the party that will appoint Supreme Court justices that will uphold abortion rights and the Voting Rights Act, allow Medicaid expansion into all states, require states to fund public schools equally, maintain gay right, stop undemocratic gerrymandering, and end unlimited corporate campaign contributions. And yes, every Republican senator will oppose the above, so a party line vote an informed choice and is not blindly following anyone.

I know you find it impossible to believe that the Louisiana governor - a politican - is playing politics, but criticizing Trump would have cost his constituents severely. Chris Christie was smart to hug Obama after Sandy too.

My choice in the general this year will be very easy. I will be voting for the party that will appoint Supreme Court justices that will uphold abortion rights and the Voting Rights Act WHATS WRONG WITH LAWS REQUIRING PEOPLE TO PRESENT THE SAME ID AS ONE NEEDS TO GET A FREE BUFFET,
allow Medicaid expansion into all states MORE FREE CRAP THAT GOVT CAN'T AFFORD,
require states to fund public schools equally NYC PUPIL EXPENDITURES IS AMONG THE HIGHEST IN THE COUNTRY WITH DISASTEROUS RESULTS, maintain gay right,
stop undemocratic gerrymandering YOU DO REALIZE DEMOCRATS DO THIS TO,
and end unlimited corporate campaign contributions CLINTON FOUNDATION.
And yes, every Republican senator will oppose the above, so a party line vote an informed choice and is not blindly following anyone BUT YET YOU BLINDLY DO AS YOU IGNORE EVERY CLINTON/OBAMA SCANDAL
