Heading to Vegas for the "Boys" 33rd annual Labor Day trip

14 of us arriving from various places such as Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Huntsville Alabama, Houston, Charlotte, Indianapolis, Minneapolis (that's me), Long Island, and St. Louis. We have a fairly open schedule, but do plan several "milestone" events such as Thursday golf, watching Purdue lose (9am Saturday), Thursday's opening night party in the suite, and finally a nice dinner. An impromptu college football watching party always organically develops in the suite sometime during the trip. Our Huntington Beach buddy brings in a full cache of booze, beer, mixers, munchies, and so on for the suite, which attracts our friends from the other rooms. We also gamble as a group much of the trip............albeit on several near by blackjack tables.

Since I'm in the midst of a move to Minneapolis, I've turned over this years plans to one of my Houston buddy.

I've stayed at the Venetian in the past, but this will be the group's first Labor Day there. I'm lucky enough to be staying in a friend's Renascence Suite, which is a biggie at 1980 square feet. Only one king bed, however, so we'll be sharing. No gayness here........................."Not that that there's anything wrong with that."

I will again pass on a rental car due to my expected elevated blood alcohol counts.

Is there any place to have a cocktail in this joint that isn't $20 a drink?
Sounds like the suite will be the best place for cocktails. Have a blast.
I will say this, Venetian and Palazzo restaurants have some good happy hour offerings with excellent cocktails. I'm partial toward Morels and I'm surprised they aren't on the current list.

Happy Hour at Venetian
Maggiano's has a great happy hour. It's in the Fashion Mall across the street.
BTW- - you can get roll out beds for a small fee.

I don't think you are going to find lower cost drinks at the Venetian/Palazzo. I'd bring a couple of well stocked coolers and plastic cups and anything else needed for drinks.

The suite is always stocked with Canadian whiskey, Bourbon, Jack Daniels, gin, vodka, Irish whiskey, various beers, and other stuff. Sometime however, it's nice to sit at a bar......... but not when a drink cost $30 with tip. Hell, I could drop 200 bucks during a football game on vodka tonics alone.

I will keep an eye out for happy hours at the Venetian, as some have suggested.

Keep an eye out for Happy Hours at the Venetian? Hell, a link was provided for you. $3 beers at Canaletto, not bad at all.
I viewed the link that you refer to prior to this thread beginning. Thank you for the concerns.

You asked - "Is there any place to have a cocktail in this joint that isn't $20 a drink?"

If you had already opened the link as you say then you knew there was.
