In the early 2000s I was up in Vegas quite a bit. I was staying at the Luxor. Each day I would walk the strip from the Luxor to the Venetian. Just before the Venetian I'd stop in at Casino Royale to buy those dollar beers, and then head over to Grand Luxe Cafe at the Venetian for lunch.
Have a nice trip!

What hotel did you stay at on your first trip?
The Venetian doesn't comp bar drinks for video poker players?
We stayed at the Stardust on trip number one, in 1984.

They probably do comp video poker players, but we exclusively play Blackjack at the tables.

Liondownow, do you have any suggestions for a reasonably priced cocktail at the Venetian after 8 p.m.? You appear a bit cranky. Is everything okay?

You asked - "Is there any place to have a cocktail in this joint that isn't $20 a drink?"

If you had already opened the link as you say then you knew there was.

I don't think you are going to find lower cost drinks at the Venetian/Palazzo. I'd bring a couple of well stocked coolers and plastic cups and anything else needed for drinks.

They
don't comp drinks while playing? Not even playing 25-100 buck BJ?

I'm sure they do comp them. If Boilerman likes to watch some of the football games in the sports book (which by the way, the new Venetian sports book is spectacular), then he is going to have to pay $8 or $9 for a bottle of beer and much more for a cocktail. Sometimes it is nice to have a drink while walking around.
Purdue plays a cream puff -- Eastern Kentucky -- that weekend. Boiler can make a mint on that game and afford $20 drinks. And maybe even a couple of $3.50 blue cheese-stuffed olives across the street at Wynn!

I'm not even seeing it on the boards. Their game is on 9/3.
