Google United States Special Operations Command for more detail.

"His 52 decorations include two Silver Stars, four Bronze Star Medals with Valor device, a Joint Service Commendation Medal with Valor device, three Presidential Unit citations, and two Navy and Marine Corps Commendations with Valor device."
I think maybe he earned a pass from yahoos speculating about his SEAL career...yahoos who don't really have a clue about the details. Of course some people will say anything if it advances their political causes. It's just like those who are attacking the Kahn family at a personal level.
I didn't know the US Navy had the rank of "master sergeant".
With SPEC OPS deployments on the increase after 16 years of being deployed more than being home with the family & training. I can understand the reason to leave the military.
My buddy's son resigned his commission for this reason.
Being passed over for promotion once is handwriting on the wall, being passed over twice is a "good by & have a nice life".
