Heartless Pechanga

Chill, it's all good. I lived in Temecula in the mid 60s when no one had heard of it, the early 80s when it was still a great place and the early 90s when the ruination had been foretold. I worked in politics, business and journalism in the area. Southwest Riverside County is extremely conservative; remember, Ray Haynes represented those people and Jeff Stone wants to break away from urban California because that part is too liberal. Current Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries, a great guy, is a centrist for that area.

Affordability is another matter.

Now can we talk about the evangelical fervor down there?
My question to the OP, how did you get home. I've taken the exact same bus to Pechanga and my worst fear was about if I missed the bus back home. The next bus would be 24 hours, if seats are available. Some of those buses are packed full.

Their bus was scheduled to return 5 hours from arrival. The woman was ill so they wanted to take an earlier bus home after 3 hours but the casino said "no". As part of the cash-back deal you have to stay for 5 hours. They made the ill woman wait 2 hours in the casino before they'd let her on a bus back to LA.

That is my understanding of what was written.
Ugh.

I don't understand how you can expect the bus that took you to the casino to take you home after 3 hours. That bus has to be there at the departure time to take the other 45 people home. Yes, the employees showed little regard for your gf's health, but I'm not sure what they could have done. Maybe if you were a high roller they would have gotten you a room for her to rest in. I also take the bus to Pechanga and have always had a good experience. The bus I ride costs $17 with $30 in free play.

I was under the impression that there was another bus leaving the casino 2 hours earlier going to the same origin that was not full.
My question would be, "Did you offer to pay back the money you received for taking the bus, before the early return bus left?" Secondly, if the health was such a substantial issue at that point, wouldn't a taxi have been a more expedient method to get to your destination?
lone ranger: tonto, indians to the east of us(holding hand up to shield sun from his eyes)
LR: and also indians to the west of us(looking to west and still shielding his eyes)
They ride a very short while, stopping again and dismount.
LR: Tonto!(hand up,shielding eyes again and twisting head in all directions) UH-NO,indians now from the north..and the south! We are surrounded tonto, and they're closing quickly, what are we going to do now!?
TONTO: Whats this "we" shit paleface?

Sorry for the late reply on this. The manager of our busing program tried to post yesterday, as soon as we were made aware of this, but had problems creating a user account. Here is what he had to say:

"I am sorry to hear of your bad experience foildcoup.
First off, I need to point out that Pechanga maintains a full 24-hour EMT staff and an emergency medical center is just minutes away. I do not believe that there has ever been an instance of a guest not receiving requested medical attention at Pechanga.

As the manager of the busing program for Pechanga, I recommend anyone with any type of medical condition that might limit their stay here to avoid traveling on a group bus, unless that bus is specifically designed to accommodate your needs. We do get many visits from buses servicing group homes that can accommodate the medical needs of such guests. However, the majority of buses arriving here are scheduled to stay a certain amount of time and have to stick to that schedule so that no customers are left behind.

All these buses that bring passengers to our resort are independently operated. The rewards we give to passengers are naturally based on the time period they stay. Buses are welcome to schedule their departure whenever they like; however, if they are only going to stay for an hour, we are not likely to give the passengers on that bus any rewards. In regards to any player who does receive such rewards, but does not leave on their designated bus, this is handled on a case-by-case basis. As you can imagine, numerous individuals have tried to use their free play and then leave the property in a friend’s car to exploit the reward system.

Once again, accept my apologies for your bad experience and please contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you,"

There are always people that will try to exploit the system. As you say, things are handled on a case by case basis. In this case the casino felt this ill woman did not deserve exception to the rule. Hence, the "heartless" description was used. Sometimes people feel "up to it" and then their health does not cooperate.
