HET/Ceasers Diamond Lounge

While not a fan (to put it mildly) of HET properties I was intrigued when a casual acquaintance told me that he and his wife didn't spend a penny on a recent weeklong trip to PH for food and "drinks" by sticking to this lounge -no elaboration on what "drinks" were.
What food and booze are available at these lounges and what play is needed to get this Diamond card and can one play at places where HET has 9-6 Jacks like AC, Reno, Tahoe and use it in LV?
Lastly, not that I would do it (he he) but if one were to find an abandoned Diamond card at a slot machine could one slip into these lounges without ID?
The lounges are only open from 4-9PM and food (except for things like chips and peanuts) is only out between 4 and 6PM. So maybe they only ate once a day? The drinks at the lounges in Vegas aren't anything more special than what you can order on the casino floor. On friday and saturday the lounges open at noon, but there isn't much in the way of food until they put out the hot food at 4.

as far as not spending a penny, I hope he at least tipped the bartender. oh, wait, the PH lounge doesn't have a bar. I hope he tipped the server for his drinks then

Diamond cards are 11,000 tier credits (110,000 coin in on VP) in a calendar year. Yes, you can earn a diamond card exclusively playing 9/6 Jacks and gain admittance to a lounge in Vegas.

I am asked to show an ID with my Diamond card 90% of the time in Vegas
Karen TN sure knows what she's talking about. Very comprehensive and thorough reply to the inquiry.
and I haven't even been in one of the Vegas lounges for about a year! guess not much has changed

We just got back on 6/28. The hot "food" is served from 4:30-6:30 now. It makes it a little easier on the bartenders to keep up with the drink orders. Paris DL had chicken wings nightly and one rotating item like firecracker wonton, beef wellington bites, duck empanadas, etc.

The bartenders do pour a strong drink.

In AC, one can easily eat well in the DLs. But in Vegas, I don't think so!

do the folks still line up for the hot food and pile it up on the plate like they haven't eaten for a week?
the Caesars diamond lounge was a good place a couple of years ago... and there was also a great 7stars lounge with a daily and evening buffet that went from breakfast to 10pm... but when the restaurants complained that too many were eating for free Caesars cut back the food and the 7stars lounge was walled in and turned into office space. it was a good idea that backfired on Harrahs from its restaurant concessions.
A few people stocked up on chicken wings at PHo. However, most everyone I saw had appetizers or normal size servings.

I find Caesar's to be more generous with the drinks
I saw many times around 4 PM when they put out the food, people filling plates like it was a buffet.
They fill the food often, but some people act like they will never eat again- it is annoying to watch.

The Diamond lounges have call drinks vs wells on the floor, and they make exotics with little to no hassle with calls that you cannot get on the floor like a mojito or a frozen something or other.

As for finding a diamond card, they WILL card you with additional ID to ensure your name is on the card. It would not be worth the embarrassment.

Tipping is ESSENTIAL! These people work their butts off for mid-grade to high grade rollers. I have seen people not tip at all- or appear to not tip and that is just a NO-GO!

I totally agree with you, Madcat. I have seen both the butlers/servers and/or bartenders get stiffed many times. Or worse, someone sits at the bar forever, asks for all kinds of specialty drinks/shots, and then leaves two bucks!

Yes, some people still pile on the food like it is the "last supper."

The Paris DL management were totally unprepared for the onslaught of Diamonds who came in on Monday, June 20, to register for the diamond slot tourney. Sal was the only bartender and he worked nonstop for a good three hours. He was like a machine! And yet, some complained that they didn't get their drinks quickly enough.
