Welcome to the forum, chipchik.

Do you have Cuban sandwiches on your menu? I am dying for a Cuban sandwich here in South Bend, IN.

I don't even know what that is...the only Cuban I know is Ricky Ricardo.
We are american home style meals.
Meat Loaf, Pot Roast, Fried Chicken. Chicken Fried Steak, burger, salads...etc.
You know the good stuff that everyone is afraid to admit.

I like comfort food as well as the next guy, but you haven't lived until you have tried a Cuban-style sandwich. Next time you are in Vegas, try one at the Florida Cafe, which is located about halfway between the Strip and Downtown on Las Vegas Ave., next to the Howard Johnson.

If you add them to your menu, I guarantee you clients will eat them up (pun intended).

I want a gyro. Every diner in NJ but 1 sells gryos.

Snidely, Gyro Palace is about 15 blocks away from where I sit. A platter w/fries and a coke for dine in will run you about $9.25.

A cuban is basically a pressed samitch. (sandwitch)how to make a cuban sandwitch

Thanks for the link, Chef, I will definetely try that recipe out.

A cuban SANDWITCH? lol

Geese, its just a "t"......

sandwich, ok??

Oh, if you don't have a sandwich press, use 2 pans and a brick with foil wrapped around it. Place Samitch in bottom pan, put a smaller pan on top of samitch, place foil covered brick in second pan. Or, use a Foreman grill with a brick to weigh it down.
I prefer sammitch
sandwich= plain ol' bread with something in between
A sammitch however is something tasty and to be enjoyed, might even say has its own persona. Matter of fact I just made a hot ham and cheese sammitch and it was something wayyyy beyond a ham and cheeses sandwich. This puppy had steaming hot ham placed on bread with swiss layered in. Placed in a 350 oven for a few minutes til swiss was all gooey and squishing out the sides. Now thats a sammitch, and was darn tasty!

Sorry for the tardy response to the Akron queries and comments, everyone. We were on the road over the weekend and just arrived home in lovely NE Ohio after vacationing in Florida. It was twenty here last night.

The Fairlawn Winking Lizard is not the most interesting. Look up the one in Peninsula. Posters such as DonDiego and others would enjoy the taverns because they offer a very large selection of beers. Summit Lake is fairly distant in miles and even more distant culturally from Copley. If Alanleroy's wife attended Copley High School, perhaps she knew Mrs. Maybin.
Sounds like my kind of "sammitch". Yum, Yum
