Hiking Las Vegas

WTH, how do so many end up lost or dead............ I go hiking here and just find it odd so many end up dead.

I hike there but mostly the known places like red rock, valley of fire, bryce etc. So where is everyone turning up dead - other than in front of Stratosphere - OK - I didn't say that - it was somebody else I would like to know so that I can avoid it!

We have the same problem here in the North Carolina mountains (Linville Gorge).... people think it is a walk in the park until they get lost and can't figure out how to get out of the forest because of the trees.

They call it DEATH VALLEY for a reason....Most people from other places are not used to the dry desert heat and don't realize how fast they get dehydrated.
