The penalty for violating the act is removal from your post, and a lot of Democrats are demanding that the process begin on that. If you would read something other than Breitbart, you would know that. Furthermore, A former Bush administration official filed a formal complaint against him yesterday with the Office of Special Counsel to investigate Comey for Hatch Act violations, so he is in deep legal shit himself.

Say you get subpoenaed to turn over all
your electronic devices, do you turn over your wife’s: computer, cell phone, and tablet too? Do you turn over your Uncle Joe’: computer, cell phone and tablet because you stayed with him for three days two years ago and used his laptop while you visited? No, a subpoena doesn’t require you to turn over property that belongs to someone else. If law enforcement wants to examine someone else’s devices, they have to send a subpoena to them.
