Was there pressure from within the agoncy to come clean,(or they would) There certainly has been talk that many people from withing were mighty pissed off over not recommending prosecution.

Or is this to set up a scapegoat (huma?) to take all the heat off the hill? If she could shift all the focus off her onto one of her "trusted aide who was like a daughter to me", ie betrayed, that would definitely become story of the day.

Or maybe I read too many of MAL's conspiracy posts and it's rubbing off?

The penalty for violating the act is removal from your post, and a lot of Democrats are demanding that the process begin on that. If you would read something other than Breitbart, you would know that. Furthermore, A former Bush administration official filed a formal complaint against him yesterday with the Office of Special Counsel to investigate Comey for Hatch Act violations, so he is in deep legal shit himself.

Do you turn over your Uncle Joe’: computer, cell phone and tablet because you stayed with him for three days two years ago and used his laptop while you visited? No, a subpoena doesn’t require you to turn over property that belongs to someone else. If law enforcement wants to examine someone else’s devices, they have to send a subpoena to them.
