Hotel guest stabbed

A hotel guess was stabbed at the elevator at the Mandalay Bay at 2:00 in the morning. The guess was with his wife. What's going on in today's world!
Who can guess?
link? I'd like to read about this. did they catch the assailant?
Two arrested in stabbing at Strip hotel

When I have stayed at Mandalay Bay they have had security at the elevators asking to see a room key.
Guessing that didn't happen last night - still surprised - I always felt safer there than at most Vegas Resorts.
These two thugs are lucky that the mob no longer runs Vegas. They would have two holes in the desert waiting for them.

"The man was taken to University Medical Center. Police said that he was severely injured, his lungs were not punctured. He was released from the hospital."

Huh? "severely injured / He was released from the hospital" That's a pretty fast turnaround.

This would never happen downtown.
Mandalay Bay security has always been there checking keys at The Hotel when we've stayed there. The article is quite short on info. It doesn't say the assailants were not guests (who would then have had the required room keys). I know I've seen many drunk, obnoxious, and even aggressive individuals in hotel elevators over the decades I've been visiting Vegas, and they have apparently also been guests with room keys. It's a judgement call for me on whether I get into the elevator with them or just wait on the next available one. I have also exited at a floor that was not my own and called for another elevator if I didn't feel comfortable with the people I was riding with. Sounds like that might have been the best thing to do in this instance if these guys were aggressive as soon as they got on the car.

You assume they were not guests of The Hotel at Mandalay Bay.
I guess this means that we can expect a ban on knives. I am still amazed at the ability of guns to make people shoot one another and now knives are making people knife each other. Now that I think about it, the only common denominator in these assaults/killings is ...people. Na, that can't be the cause. If so, we would have to ban people.
