They have a new players' club, Affinity Gaming APlay, which includes Buffalo Bill's and Whiskey Pete's. I suspect this alliance is relatively new, and I suspect the policy you've described is relatively new, as well.
Sounds like a deposit for for incidental room charges (I'm assuming you're not RFB), but that's usually doneat checkin. If it's all returned, I have no problem. Even if you do get charged a little interest, that small amount will be well worth what you get in return. Intersest on $50 won't be much.
When I talked to the agent on the phone he said the policy has been in place since he started there. I mentioned to him all the big resorts don't charge a deposit in advance on a comped room. I guess the little hassle is worth the $100 in free food at the cafe and a kiosk game for $40 to $500 in freeplay. Terrible's is an excellant place to have all your meals at. Huge portions, yummy food, and very cheap prices.
Also, the gift shop has everything you need at rock bottom prices. Other than the smoke and people this is a great place to eat.
I agree w/Jen; very weird. I've stayed at many different props comped and NEVER had been charged a deposit prior to check-in; even when I gave my CC or debit card #.Also seems strange that at first they stated would charge an additional $50 at check-in but then rescinded that and stated only the $50 would be charged.Have they had so many no-shows that they have to hedge their bets?
Yeah... I guess I am going to go through with it VP. Worst case I file a dispute with my credit card company and have them explain to the bank what I was charged for. I will make sure at check-in I have a copy of the agreement. Once they charge my card at any point I am sent a message instantly on my phone so I know at check-in.
I wouldn't go through with this but $100 goes a long way in the Cafe at Terrible's. The prime rib is delicious 24/7 and the carrot cake is amazing. Also, last time I did the kiosk freeplay I received $150-$200. It can be anywhere from $40-$500. I will take my food back to the suite and soak in the hot tub while eating prime rib and carrot cake. Then go back to my room at the Gold Coast to sleep.
