I use the cheap stuff at home and its still better than any hotel stuff I've ever used. My two most recent hotel stays were at the Hyatt and the Westin and I was glad I brought my own stuff. Their stuff smelled like old people.

You sound picky.

I'm really not. I use Aussie stuff for my hair and Dove cucumber scent for soap. The hotel stuff is always garbage.
We bring our own soap, shampoo, and conditioners on every trip. We do collect all the hotel supplied items and bring them home with us (usually just make the weight limit on our checked bags!).

Donate them to our church. They provide them to the members who travel on various missionary trips throughout the year.

We do keep a few of the unusual selections to put out in our guest bathroom for a different touch.

I am a little curious as to what happens to the branded items when a property goes out of business or undergoes a name change. Hope they are not just thrown out.

Before the Superbowl, World Series, etc, shirts, hats and whatnot are printed up and ready to sell declaring both teams the winner. You might be curious what happens to the losing team memorabilia. Satisfying both your curiosity and missionary theme:

Until 15 years ago, the shirts would have been destroyed. Now they have a slightly better situation: They are donated to World Vision, an international evangelical relief and development organization working in 100 countries, and given to needy people around the world.

I think it was Mirage (or maybe TI?) that used to have some LIME stuff that I loved!!!!
