DonDiego has heard no discussion of replacement players. DonDiego does not know if the owners can do it. DonDiego supposes no one knows.
The Judge who ruled the lockout must cease provided no guidance, as to who may do what with whom.
Some teams opened their facilities, let the players workout in the gymnasiums, allowed trainers and others to work with the players. Other teams opened their facilities and directed the players to the cafeteria.
Do the rules extant when the Player-Owner Agreement ended come back into play? Are free-agents, now free to negotiate new contracts? Can teams work out deals and trades prior to or during the Draft this week? Dunno.
The one thing the Owners do know is whatever they do they cannot be perceived as acting in concert, because the last thing they want is for someone, . . . a player?, . . . to file an anti-trust lawsuit. If that were to happen the NFL-as-now-constituted would cease to exist. So the Owners are on eggshells.
DonDiego supposes both sides oughta walk softly, lest they do something that screws the pooch for everyone.
For the record, DonDiego wants his NFL Football! He does care. He wants his beloved Eagles to dominate. He wants to watch the despicable Cowboys fail, . . . again, . . . and again, . . . and again. He wants to play fantasy football; if anyone encounters the "Steampunk Juggernauts" or the "Poteen Peckerwoods" in their league, it's really just poor old DonDiego.
Football is DonDiego's life.
