How come.....

...they don't have the pitch square on the broadcast for the World Series this year. We already know the umpires suck and call close pitches anyway they want.

K Zone is owned by ESPN. You'll have to try to get the international ESPN broadcast if you want K Zone.
When the games were on TBS they had it. Our local Fox Midwest has it. That's all I know.

I don't like the K-Zone..............or whatever it's called.

I wish they would go to electronic calling of the balls and strikes. This bullshit of the umpires "interpretation" of what the strike zone is really sucks. It's in the rule book, EXACTLY what the zone is . The fact that an umpire has that much control over a game is not the way it's supposed to be. I pay good money to watch the players play the game. I don't want to see the "Leslie Neilson 'Naked Gun' Lookalike" dance contest. These guys just act like that when they get a called third strike on a star player just so they an see themselves on highlight show on TV. And Jim Joyce..... He yells the strike calls louder than Howard Wolowitz's mother. I mean, come on, REALLY????

Most people don't know that only a seam of the ball has to touch the strike zone. Some of the pitches that look like balls are actually nicking the corner.

They miss very few pitches and plays.

Maybe they could go to a new system next year. Just have their seeing eye dog bark once for a strike and twice for a ball.

Jesus Christ. Are they still playing baseball???
I'm certain that the World's umpires and referees have weekly meetings about how to specifically target @rayxtwo's teams for unfair calls and losses.

I'm not just talking about my team(s). I'm talking about every team. EVERY TEAM! And don't think this doesn't effect you too. You go bet on a baseball game. You be the game "under". That night you get an umpire that has a "tight" strike zone meaning the pitcher has to get more of the plate to get a strike called for him. The pitcher has to "groove" more pitches which results in the batters sitting on those pitches and getting more hits and walks. This is the zone that's in the rule book and it should be followed to the letter.

Major League Baseball defines, in the most recent issue of its official rule book (Definition of Terms - 2.00), a baseball strike zone with the following description:

The STRIKE ZONE is that area over home plate the upper limit of which is a horizontal line at the midpoint between the top of the shoulders and the top of the uniform pants, and the lower level is a line at the hollow beneath the knee cap. The Strike Zone shall be determined from the batter's stance as the batter is prepared to swing at a pitched ball.

Every time a player sets foot on the field, every thing he does effects his contract for the following year(s). You're talking, in some cases, hundreds of millions of dollars. They keep stats on every thing now except how many times you scratch your balls during the game. Turn five strike outs into five walks for a player might mean another $100,000 on a players contract. How would you feel if you thought that some guys "opinion" cost you that kind of money.
