how do you play your free play?

I play my freeplay thru once, then I cash out. Any "winning" amount gets added to my bankroll. I only play on the best 25 cent video poker machine I can find. I do consider my freeplay as my money- not the casinos. Therefore, I don't use this freeplay on progressives or other lesser paying machines.

That's too bad. I think progressive machines are sexy.

Dueces wild VP. I've been wondering about video BJ. But from what I understand, video BJ pays even money only. Does anyone know of video BJ in Las Vegas that pays better than even money? I'm curious.

Even at even money, a video BJ machine pays much better than a slot machine and is just as good as almost every video poker machine with much less volitility. There are some virtual BJ machines with simulated dealers that pay 3-2, and Wynn has a BJ machine that pays 3-2, but you need play all seven hands at once. Binions also had this machine but I didn't see it last time thru.

Play the money through the machine exactly once as required ... Then I cash out. I play the best game in the casino which does include progressives at times.
Five dollar slots I know its not really free money but I play it like it is.

I agree. The amount of the freeplay is included when one does an analysis when considering the various VP plays. For example, the Coast casinos often have 5x & 7x points...which turn a <100% game into a >100% game...as long as you treat the freeplay correctly.

I try to never use free play on a game that I wouldn't otherwise be playing. Usually play the free play through once, make a note of how much I made from it, then use that as starting money for a regular session.
I like to take my freeplay and use it in the high limit room. As a former slot tech I know that machines that only take one coin ($10, $25, $50, etc) and the game does not have a multiplier. Those machines have more winning combinations and a lower "hit" ratio (these machine have a hit ration of 2.3 while 25 cent machines have a 4.0 to 5.0) While I may only get 2 or 3 spins I do have a good chance to brak even or get ahead. A long time ago station casinos were doing a promo called the jumbo jackpot and if it hit and you were playing you got $50 in free slot play. I took it to the high limit room and found a $25 red, white, and blue. On the second and last spin I hit a winning combination for $500 bucks.
Quickly, feverishly ... and with unspoken regret. (Wait. We're still talking about free play, right?)
As someone who plays only the best VP machines in the house I splurge and use my freeplay on cartoon idiot slots I enjoy like Dean Martin, Uncle Sam or Texas Tea.
If its more $10 its VP, if its less it matters on what machine the casino has, i prefer WWII or Gems Wild Tiles.
