Gee... whenever I actually "win" money, I get hit with the "wife tax." I forgot to mention that. The wife always demands 50% pre tax, and offsetting losses do not count.

Example:

I win $10,000 on quad aces with a kicker. Cost to get there is $4,000. My net win is $6,000. Wife Tax is $5,000.

Another example:

I win $20,000 on a royal. Cost to get there is $12,000. My net win is $8,000. Wife Tax is $10,000.
