How is this for NEW immigration laws

The United States is a melting pot, we all agree.

Some come, take big advantage of our system, some do not.

My idea would be to welcome all that would like to come.......BUT

In a matter of 5 years you habe to

1) Learn English
2) get a job
3) become a US citizen

If these are not met .... you go back to your country.

And....no more GREEN CARDS OR WELFARE AND FREE ANYTHING!
America is broke. At this time, we should only allow immigrants with technical skills which will translate into an economic lift for our economy. We don't need more unskilled labor, as we have plenty of that already. We need only highly educated immigration.

The U.S. is not a melting pot. it hasn't been for several generations. Immigrants do not assimilate into our culture. They maintain a separate culture with like people. Many have practices that don't follow our laws and/or customs. Also be aware that not everyone that came here in the early 1900's through Ellis Island was freely admitted. That is a total myth propagated by the left. The Chinese Exclusion act passed by congress did not allow any Chinese immigrants.

"Passage of the Immigrant Quota Act of 1921 and the National Origins Act of 1924, which limited the number and nationality of immigrants allowed into the United States, effectively ended the era of mass immigration into New York. From 1925 to its closing in 1954, only 2.3 million immigrants passed through Ellis Island–which was still more than half of all those entering the United States."
