How many casino cards(active) do you carry around?10-20?

Just once a year I go to Sin City. Used to be one Reno and Las
Vegas in the same year,annually.
I carried around MULTIPLE cards for all the casinos that I liked.
Most of downtown casinos in Reno and a LOT of 'Vegas casinos.
ALL of my Reno cards have expired.

Just 10 of my 'Vegas cards are active, now.
When I did the strip casinos,I had as many as 30!
Top to bottom.Strat to the Hard Cock.
They fully filled a cigarette package.
Then, the "outlying" places,too.
Sam's,Fiesta,Boulder Station,Some in Laughlin,Boulder.
All at the same time.

My buds and I would just drive like hell to all the places we thought would be cool to gamble/eat at.
"Hey,we have a good coupon that this place, let's PUNCH IT!"
Drop the rent-a-racer in drive-fast mode(after we jacked the air box up to make more power) and just listen to that awesome 4 cylinder engine winding up,beyond the red line.
3 Fiendish White Boys on a mission,bat-shit crazy,to the next casino to count cards.
We would swoop down ,entering different doors,to converge at the same table and do the count system we were all good at.
10 count.5 count.ACE count.
Calculate,tabulate,extrapolate.
2,4 or 6 decks.
Win or get COOKED by a fast dealer, zoom out and tackle the next casino in the surrounding area, knowing we could out-smart the system.
Whip out the players cars and get tracked.
OOPS,they are on to us.Let's boogie.(GTFO).

Back downtown,to the lesser-known places,eh?
"Hey,this looks like a good place".
If we were new, sign up for a card, first thing.
We 3 had quite a collection, running from place to place. Just Black Jack. Some VP,if we found some good pay tables.

Doing burn outs at the 7-11,running at high-speed into the desert, during a full moon, and onto the next victims
of the trio from Seattle.
Maybe we collected those cards as a tribute to the memories.

We had at least 40 cards each, back then.
I now use them for rear air spoilers on my R/C trucks and sell them on Ebay to collectors.
Some really are collectable.
The casinos that are long gone.
The ones I no longer have.

All of mine have been used, just a little.
I have NEVER worn one out,to be un-readable.

How many will you carry that are(maybe) still active for 2015?

Who woulda thunk these old cards have value? I have many accounts and few cards as I usually just get a "reprint" when I re-visit a casino. I remember applying for a club card at the casino in Lake Las Vegas the day before they closed and they thought I was nuts.
Zero.
Who would pay $15 for a Downtown Grand Club Card and Room Key?

My stack of cards is 3 inches thick - some for places that don't even exist anymore. I bring them all to Vegas every year. At any time I carry up to 10 of them in my wallet for the casinos I plan to visit each day. You need them for coupons ... but also for buffet discounts.
My son had several dozen on a lanyard and placed them on the table at the Eastside Canary and the pit boss looked at him and said the Bingo Parlor does not open until 4:00PM
Pretty much, cards never expire, despite the "expiration date" on them.
You can play on an old card even when the casino changes card design, even if you haven't darkened their door in decades, they still have you on file.

So I only carry the cards I am certain I will use, 3 in Vegas, 6 in the Tunica area.

I have one old card which must be one of the first plastic ones. From the Sands (Las Vegas), it has those little rectangular computer code cutouts. They were going around asking players to sign up, and it was probably mailed to me. I don't remember using it before they got the regular computer system going with regular cards. 1987 or '88?

a little off topic.... if you change your address can you fool casinos into thinking you are a new patron and thus eligible for the new signup goodies?

Ive been at the same address for almost all of my Vegas trips so ive never seen what happens when you move
PJ- always looking for an angle to rip off something or someone - typical thieving liberal always taking what they have not earned.
We still have our 12 year old bluish silver MGM-Mirage cards and they still work.
