How to get the most value out of your remodel

If you refer to it as your safe room or tornado shelter, its a plus. Just keep the chains, whips, etc. hidden.
One minor cost item (less than a thousand) that I did, was to replace all of the cheap hollow interior doors with doors like you might find in a very nice hotel. I also bought nice hardware (door handles).

Ya know, I thought about doing that a long time ago when I was upgrading a lot of things(crown, new slider, paint, etc.) and never did. I might go ahead and do that, there's all flat slat slabs in the hallway, six panels would look much better. Pretty cheap upgrade and hardware's not much more. Thanks for planting that RM.

I'l figure out how to post pics on this POS computer at some point. The bathroom looks fantastic, really lucky to have a neighbor/friend who is a master tiler. The only holdup now is I want to find an old dresser and convert it to a the vanity, the search has been really frustrating. We even visited Lancaster PA for a weekend(different reason) but still searched every place there and all the way back to Va., nothing. And that's like the junk/"antique "capital of the world. As I said, frustrating, but we'll find something and it'll get done.

I got the Bellagio style doors from Masonite. The hardware (door handle) in this picture is the same kind of handle I got. The only door I didn't replace was the one to the garage, because that is a fire rated door. Masonite now has the fire rated door in the Bellagio style, so that is going to be a summer project.

Really like your paint choice, I've been a big fan of tan/light brownish/cream against a bright white trim. Your door handles seem too low on those doors, maybe just a bad angle on the pic? If I switch, it'll prob be six panels.

That isn't a picture of my actual door and you are right, the handle is low. It is higher on the doors I have at home. I at first bought two pre-hung doors and then had a friend tell me that it is cheaper to buy the slabs. He had the right tools to slot the hinges and to cut out where the door handle goes. They of course line the door handle up with where the notch or strike plate goes in the door jamb.
Prior to the door handle position being clarified, I began to suspect that Roulette Man is a "little person".

I'm at the finish line, final painting but with a hiccup(actually, I'm extremely PO'd). That crap they sell nowadays that's "paint and primer" all in one is pure BS. After doing a second coat and final touch-ups I went to scratch off a booger on the wall and that led to me peeling off sheets of paint(think phyllo dough) and my wall looks like complete sh!t now. I spent the entire morning peeling this crapola paint off my walls. It was Behr's mid-grade brand, so I would highly advise against anyone using that crap. So mad,,finally at the very end, getting our bathroom back and another step backwards...GRRRR Should finally be done this weekend tho, excepting any more setbacks.
