How will legalized recreational marijuana affect the gaming industry?

I simply assumed that we'd hear the word "Dude" much more frequently while gambling, and that stoners would slow gaming tables to a near standstill. This article, however, takes a much more in depth view, as gaming licenses require Casinos to help enforce federal pot laws.

Like underage drinking in Vegas hotel rooms, my guess is that casinos will largely look the other way. Don't be stupid and don't flaunt it, and it'll be considered "no harm no foul". That's fine with me.............because I'm such a cool and hip dude. In fact, feel free to call me "The Dude".

Probably be a lot of junk food wrappers and bags laying around when the munchies hit.
They are going to jack the prices on smoking rooms.
I'd be so paranoid I doubt I could even approach a BJ table. Being anxious and paranoid is just one of the reasons I quit smoking long, long time ago.

A lot of Las Vegas casino hotels have eliminated smoking rooms from their properties within the last year or two. I doubt they will reverse that trend.

In Colorado, some hotels that still have smoking rooms cater to pot tourism by allowing pot smoking in their rooms, but some others will only allow tobacco products to be smoked in their rooms. I suspect most casino hotels that still allow tobacco smoking in their rooms in Las Vegas will also tell their guests they don't want pot smoking in their rooms.

I think a lot of folks think legalized rec pot means stoners will be lighting up anywhere and everywhere. It doesn't. Stoners smoke at home, and they will keep doing that.

The greatest impact on Las Vegas might be people thinking they can take the weed or edibles home with them to places where it isn't legal. McCarran may need extra space and personnel to accommodate those trying to take that particular contraband home with them. I bought a couple Cuban cigars when I was in the Bahamas. I smoked them before my cruise ship docked back in Miami...

Umm, . . . phantasmagorically ?
Since so many BJ tables in Vegas and other gambling towns seem to be rather busy, despite deplorable 6-5 games, I suspect that marijuana, legal or otherwise, has already had a huge impact.
It will be OK with me.
It may affect the bottom line on the buffets when the get-high-fat-boys go on a food trip.
Pot smokers can still get a DWI if high and driving.

But I would rather know that ,instead of a drunk person that cannot see to drive, unless there is one eye closed.
It may not affect the water shortage that allows them to grow a small crop or 2.
The law is still in it's infancy,so far.
I do NOT like that pe-truly-nasty oil stink, anyway.

Pot smell is fine.

I quit that stuff many years ago and I just don't like to go out into public when I'm on it.
I don't like to "Get Small" anymore. It's been so long, that I don't think my gambling skills would improve at all!
Just last October, some Detroit boys were smoking a joint in front of The DTG. I reminded them that it wasn't legal..... yet.
Will it affect gambling revenue? Yes,IMO. The State of Nevada will get their cut to go to schools, etc.

There are a LOT of pot shops in Seattle and I keep some on hand for my guests.
If you imbibe, try "Purple Haze". Fukkin' ,WOW!
Stoned players may make some interesting hit or stick choices. Watch out for players falling out of their seats. Lol
I suspect it will add to the number of younger people visiting Vegas......exactly what the casinos want anyway. It may also decrease the consumption of "free drinks".....another plus for the casinos.
