How's This For A Tournament?

In February, after the SB, the red rock is having a combination BJ and VP tournament, where first place pays $100,000 for 1st place! But here's the kicker! If you win BOTH TOURNAMENTS, you win $500,000!!! Yeah! You read that right, $500,000 if you win both tournaments. Guess where we'll be in February!

If you have any interest send me a PM, and I'll try and hook you up!

I wonder which game you play first. Seems to me if you win the VP first, you might be able to "make a deal" if you wind up at the final BJ table. just saying!
I played in a VP and BJ combo tournament years ago in Laughlin.

They had us alternating, a session of VP in the morning, a session of BJ in the afternoon. Repeated the next day. Something like that.

We played in teams, and the winning teams split the money among the players.

The money was not nearly that huge.
A host called me right after New Years and told me about the tournament. I thought he said first prize was only $25,000, but did say $500,000 for winning both. But it sounded pretty good in that they were limiting it to a 100 invited players only. He told me they would do the full RFB, with the room being one of the villas by the pool. I got to say Red Rock has some tempting offers. Recently they were offering a $2,500 visa gift card or $3,000 in free play chips. Makes it almost sound appealing being in the middle of nowhere.
It is cool when there's a big kicker like that for a tournament.

In 1984 Harrah's held a series of four blackjack tournaments throughout the year, one at each of four different venues. It was called The Harrah's Games, to distinguish it from the Summer Olympics also held that year. First prize at each tournament was $50,000, if DonDiego remembers correctly. The kicker was if a single player won two tournaments he'd also win $1,000,000.

DonDiego played in the first or second, he's not sure which, which was at Harrah's Las Vegas. And he finished out of the money.

He then played in the final tournament in Lake Tahoe in the Fall. Mr. Stanford Wong, who had already won an earlier tournament, was also an entrant. On the final hand of the second round DonDiego advanced to the third round and beat Mr. Wong, at least that's what he was told, thereby saving Harrah's $1,000,000. Harrah's showed poor, old DonDiego no appreciation. And DonDiego finished out of the money again.

Anyway, DonDiego wishes BAGIANT the Best of Luck !

Good luck, BAGIANT! That does sound good. I truly hope you win both.

Ah.....the good ol' days of shaky-hands, tense, stress-filled blackjack tournaments....I still remember the FOUR (small) BJ Tournaments in which I beat DonDiego and finished in the money in three of them! How S-W-E-E-T it was.....
Bagiant,
We will be at RR for Super Bowl and are interested in the tournament but I can't seem to PM you. Please try to email us through the board and we probably can reply back.
