HP Computer repair speeds up my computer

HP sent a computer guy Dwayne out to replace the WIFI card which they thought was an issue. Turns out the new one was good so was the old one.

But, Dwayne said Mc Afee and Norton don't help much and don't remove malware like they should. He suggested:

Free!!:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and
Super Antispyware Free Edition

He said run each (don't have anything running at the time but one of these at a time).

I ran those each twice then did the HP and Windows update and restarted the computer.

My computer download went from 3.0 to 21. Quite an improvement!!

You can check your speed using SPEEDTEST.NET

How about sending Dwayne over to the LVA Server Farm.

Thanks for the info. I have an HP and I have a couple things invading that I can not remove through program removal. They are connected with a site called Nation Zoom takes over Google. Anyone else have this attack your Google?

Run Malwarebytes and see if it takes care of your infection.

I agree....Malwarebytes is VERY effective!

Someone told me to download "avast" and it really does the job. You can clean up everything, including your registry but it takes a long time. Will find a virus that most anti virus software doesn't find. I recommend a scan every month.

Most HPs have a recovery image on their HD simply restore the computer to factory settings and all the bad stuff will be gone.

I had SOOOO much trouble with Google Chrome,I went back to IE 11. Defender is OK.(Same as MSS)
I found that MSS won't do squat but this does: Spybot-Search and destroy. Free.
It digs out all kinds of crap ware!
Don't mess around with "conflicts" in Chrome.
