Huell Howser RIP

If you have ever lived in California or at least watched PBS in California for more than 3 seconds, then you will have heard the name Huell Howser. He was California's biggest booster who went to every nook and cranny of the Golden State and showed us how wonderful California really is on his "California's Gold" and "Visiting..." shows, among others. His unabashed enthusiasm and Tennessee accent were iconic. RIP Huell, and thanks for the journeys.
I'll miss him. I think I've seen every California Gold and have visited many a destination based on Huell's always enthusiastic road trips.
Huell used to have a regular slot on the WSM-TV news in Nashville, called "Happy Features". Seemed like the title fit him perfectly, as he was always smiling. Never met him while he worked here, but he seemed like a nice guy. Pat Sajak was also on WSM-TV back then. Pat apparently thought they needed another consonant rather than a vowel, since the station now goes by the callsign of WSMV. Sorry for the useless Nashville info...

Good night sweet prince.
