The Huffington Post is a "Clown Show".

I've never claimed McCain to be a hero, nor have I claimed that McCain is not a hero. If four Army men are standing still, and two are shot, are those two automatically hero's and the other two inherently not? I think not.

Circumstances do not make a hero, but actions do.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, Boiler -- Huffington Post and Fox News are poor examples of objective news outlets.

I'll agree that Trump isn't fit to be President of the USA, but if you think it's because of his comments on John McCain you're being manipulated. You might want to check out Emmy winning investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson's analysis of the Washington Post's reporting of his comments.

"Discussion

1. The Post did not provide context at the outset disclosing that McCain and Trump have been feuding, with McCain characterizing some Trump supporters as “crazies” and Trump stating that McCain graduated last in his class in Annapolis. The charged rhetoric continued at the conservative Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa this weekend.

2. When a panelist characterized McCain as a “war hero,” the Post is accurate in reporting that Trump initially said McCain is “not a war hero.” But then, Trump immediately modified his statement saying– four times– that McCain is a war hero:

“He is a war hero.”

“He’s a war hero because he was captured.”

“He’s a war hero, because he was captured.”

“I believe, perhaps, he’s a war hero. But right now, he’s said some very bad things about a lot of people.”

3. Did Trump say McCain is not a war hero because he was captured? No, not in the exchanges represented in the Post."

So The Donald said McCain was not a war hero but immediately corrected that and stated 4 times that he was in fact a hero. It's clear the Republican Party is desperately trying to get Trump out of the race. I understand what they're afraid of.

The Media is another story altogether. Why would the Washington Post and almost all other media coverage of this event not fully and accurately characterize his words? According to Attkisson, "It’s true that Trump stated one time that McCain is not a war hero. But Trump stated four times that McCain is a war hero–and that was not accurately characterized in the article.". Why not? What are THEY afraid of?

But what about CNN. Even Forkie admitted that CNN couldn't distinguish the ISIS flag. Are you stating that CNN is legitimate?

Not defending CNN. It's just that Fox and Huffington Post were created to be manipulative in their own ways.

You can watch it hear and not have to rely anyone else to tell you what Trump said or meant.

TonT is 100% correct that Boiler, Milled, and Hoops would be lighting up the board if Hillary made those kind of statements about McCain.

Of course they would. And hopefully I'd be pointing out Sharyl Attkisson's analysis on how the media coverage of this event did not fully and accurately characterize her words. However; if Hillary had said it, I imagine the Media (with certain exceptions) would have reported it as a corrected slip in the heat of some nasty campaign rhetoric....Hillary would have apologized and it would be over. That's kind of boring. The Donald brings so much more entertainment value to this campaign. Then again, Hillary would never have made those kind of statements about McCain in the first place.

Alanleroy - thank you for the context, it helps to clarify the situation, but it doesn't change my opinion. One should never call into question the heroism of someone who was a POW for 5+ years - even if they walk it back. He should not have gone there. Even, with the context, it still disqualifies him from being POTUS.

If Hillary did this, it would probably not be reported on the evening news for the big 3 networks and MSNBC would say "what difference does it make".
