Ours went out while i was in the hospital.My father in law got some huy he knew from back home. He ended up replacing outside unit and air handler inside. Was 5k and the damn thing doesn't work very well at all. Our heating bills are the same as when we were running on emergency heat. I could've had a freind of mine replace everything for 3k.
Sorry,back on topic. If you got 25 yrs out of your current unit,you're ahead of the game. I would ask some freinds if they use someone they would recommend.
