Hypothetical gambling question

Not quite slapinfunk... more likely to lose, period. that nearly 50/50 bet is a lot worse than the nearly 50/50 bet of the pass or dont pass. dont be fooled by all those numbers out there.

you play pai gow. why dont you comment on the pai gow idea???
If you went into a Vegas racebook/sportsbook and found a horse that you liked, would they let you bet 10K on a single race?
This is some funny crap. Play $10k through VP and I hear all about short term and EV doesn't matter and it is all luck but take the $10k for one bet and same people (Money and son) break out the math books.

You guys looking for the best for the $10k is the same thing that Arc does for his VP play.

But I digress. I'd bet it on red because I just like the ball bouncing and never played craps.
PaiGow As little as I played it I seem to come out even. It was such a boring game with all the pushes if you don't press your bets.

I'm for the bet that preserves the original stake. In pai gow you're going to lose both hands fairly seldom- perhaps around 25 percent of the time. I haven't played pai gow in a casino. Do casinos usually have the rule that a player's two-card hand has to be lower than his five-card hand? If not, one could come even closer than 75% of assuring at least a push.

OK, but why? The two possible outcomes are zero (the initial state) and $10K + win. Why do you favor avoiding the zero, rather than maximizing the other possible outcome?

Because it's prudent.

World English Dictionary

1. discreet or cautious in managing one's activities; circumspect
2. practical and careful in providing for the future
3. exercising good judgment or common sense
Because there is no guarantee either way, and I have no obligation to pay the 10k back in this hypothetical scenario...

If I were responsible for the 10k like given it to me as a marker I wouldn't gamble it as agressivly as putting it on the field.

I have lost many a pai gow hands before seeing a push.
I don't think EV matters since this is one bet and not your money. When you put it on the pass line you're either going to win or loose. One bet is as far as you get from the long term averages.

Does the Pai-Gow push count as a decision? Usually when I've used a match play at Pai-Gow it sits there until it is won or lost. I did have one casino try and take the coupon after a push.

I too would go for the coin flip. Probably craps pass line, although the field sounds appealing.
just wondering, why do so many on the internet spell lose with 2 o's, is it supposed to be a hip thing like groooovy?
