I am back

I was in the ER with suspected appendicitis about 3 months ago. CT was clean so they sent me home but the CT said my liver had lesions and my lung has a nodule. Gotta love modern medicine.
I am thankful for the CT scan if I hadn’t had that they would have sent me home with some pain pills and it most likely would have ruptured. I hope you get all of that taken care of.

CT led to MRI on liver which led to ultrasound on liver and bone scan as they thought they saw spinal tumors on the MRI. MRI led to bone scan. Bone scan led to a SPECT-CT. While waiting for the SEPCT-CT, the waiting room pamphlet said it would allow better diagnosis of the tumors. After SPECT-CT they told me they'd send the report to my doctor within 2 business days. Three hours (7pm) later my doctor called me but I missed the call. It was a restless night but the next morning I was told everything was normal.

I go back for another CT scan on my lung in 2 months.

Did they pull your appendix out with small incisions?
Yep, I have three incisions, and they pulled it out of the belly button. That was the first thing I asked when I woke up, because if they would have done it the old fashioned way I would have spent 3-5 days in the hospital before I got to go home. Good luck on your next scan.

Thanks. You'll be back to normal soon, I'm sure.
When I had my CT scan they had a small window at the top center (just at the right place for you to look while you get your scan). Posted right by it was a sign saying not to look at the window. They put a window in the only place your eyes are naturally going to be drawn to and they tell you NOT to look???

Mail, I was wondering if you got scoped. Hell, you should be up and around quick.
I saw that too. I thought that was the nuttiest thing. I mean that is like putting a dish of candy in front of a kid and telling them not to eat it. Mine said something like don’t stare radiation in use you could be blinded.

My son was 16 when we took him to the ER for what we thought was appendicitis. His appendix burst while he was in the ER for 5 hours while the Doctors were trying to diagnose him. He ended up spending almost a week in the hospital, IV antibiotics, and they had to keep the incision open for a while because of the infection. And they had the nerve to charge a hefty fee for all of it.

Feel better Malibbar.
Eat a lot of ice cream! Errrr...never mind...that's for your tonsils!
My father in law just had his appendix burst. ...and he didn't tell anyone he was pain until a day later when he felt like he was dying (maybe he was). They got him in for surgery as quickly as they could, and a few days later he was back home (in pain, but able to slowly move around). He still needs at least another week to fully recover, but thankfully he's okay.

Point being, I'm familiar with what you're going though, malibber -- best wishes for a speedy recovery.
