Don't see a couple together that long and not married being excited about getting married. NOPE. Or even getting married unless they "HAD TOO".

Ergo, by my probably faulty logic, I'm putting my vast profit on a new residence.

WOW! very cool Mr and Mrs. Rick, finally got tired of the winters in the NE eh? Well you finally are done with the snow crap, I'm tired if it myself.
So are you guys there now?, or are you still in the process? Long move. I think we're going to move further south, same reasons(really hating the cold and snow, 49 yrs of it is enough). Prbabaly NC, not much further south, but a little bit, and a lot cheaper place to live.
What made you guys decide on Vegas, I thought you were leaning towards San Diego? Regardless, I'm happy for you guys and wish you well on your new chapter.

I am kinda bummed it wasn't the adoption of a neglected Llama, there's a big need.

Yes we are living in Vegas now.
We spent over two weeks in two different casinos (comped) until the movers arrived.
We rented a car until Rock'n Rita's car arrived.
I sold my Monte Carlo SS Pace Car (shown in my avatar).
I gave my notice at work, but they really needed me to continue,
and am "working from home" (in Las Vegas) for my Massachusetts software company.
I will continue until a replacement is found and I help to train remotely.
The whole process took over a year, which involved looking in CA and NV,
selling our house in MA, downsizing, donating, tossing, selling, and packing.
It's now all done, and we are now residents of Nevada.
