i have another question

ive been looking for flights from sfo to vegas.i found out its only 575 miles away so how come they dont fly direct.they all seem to go through los angeles which takes about 6 hours 45 mins.am i missing something?
I believe Virgin America has several non stop flights each day from SFO to LAS.
SouthWest Airlines offers 7 non-stops every day . . . flight's about an hour-and-a-half.

Yes, as DonDiego points out, you may have "missed" Southwest. That is because you can ONLY book through them (or a travel agent)....you will NOT see Southwest flights listed in Travelocity, Expedia, TripAdvisor, CheapTickets, etc. searches because they don't allow online "outside" bookings.

So...whenever someone needs to fly somewhere...always check out Southwest's' website and the other travel sites and then make your decision. They don't go to all cities, but it's worth checking out.

p.s. I haven't flown Southwest in a few years so this may have changed, but the one thing I HATED about their flights was NO SEATS ASSIGNED. Based on what you paid, you were in a certain category. When they called that category, it was "first-come, first-seated" on their planes. Obviously, people know this, so started forming lines at the counters LONG before the flight. Their commercials show one person casually choosing their seat, not a mass rush of mob-style behavior rushing to the counter and pushing their way through the plane...Their commercials make it seem like this is a POSITIVE, but I do NOT think so at all!

Sometimes SWA has ding fares from Oakland to Las Vegas.
thank you for answers.i will try them.thanks again

That has changed somewhat. Still no assigned seats, but one's place in line is numbered on the boarding pass. So, there is no point in lining up hours before the flight. Price only comes in if one buys Business Class which boards first.

SWA then instituted the Early Bird program, pay $10...oops now $12.50, one way to supposedly be assigned a lower boarding number. And, if reeeallly determined to board first, one can pay $40, or $50 or whatever at the gate to board ahead of some. They announce this wonderful opportunity at the gate if they don't have enough Business Class or A List boarders already taking up spots A 1-15 or so.

I still love SWA. From my relatively small city, their price and schedules beat everything else hands down. And much easier to make or change a flight online.
SWA allows you to check in online 24 hours before your flight and get a boarding pass number like A 24. You then line up according to your number. Very simple way to get things done.
