Again converting fact into fallacy. You FEAR REALITY. Therefore you hate reality. Therefore, you AVOID LOGICAL THOUGHT, because it will bring you closer to what you hate and fear.

No one has ever claimed that a person who plays with an edge can't lose; that's just stupid. And your bald face lie, that APs claim they can't lose, is just, again, testimony of an idiot.

Wow, you were able to come up with that type of physcological profile on me just by reading a few simple posts, I'm impressed.
Sounds to me like I hit a nerve. Hmmmm, makes me wonder....
And yes, AP'ers claim that "long term" they have an edge, and cannot lose, just ask Arci.

I guess poor old tom (or is it doug) must think he is being clever. What a doofus. Advantage player's don't win all the time. No one has ever claimed they did ... as has already been pointed out. Yet, tom (or is it doug) comes right back spewing the same nonsense. Sounds like a failed advantage player to me. Someone who was simply to stupid to do the simple math (or drank too much like Singer) to assure themselves they had an advantage and lost big time.

Tell us tom (or is it doug) .... how much money have you lost?

Oh yeah, that's right. Singer claims he lost his entire 6 figure inheritance as a failed advantage player. You guys must be bosom buddies.

PS. Yes, I did play today and won.

I don't play video poker, nor do I care to. I occasionally make the drive back home to Upstate NY, stop by Turning Stone Casino, shoot a little craps and thats about it. Never even knew or cared what AP was until recently when I stared reading all of the BS.
So guess again Arci, but I will tell you this, I bet baseball, specifically, I bet pitchers, and I never lose.

I almost forgot, How can I be a failed AP'er, with the right paytable and perfect play, I can't lose, right?
Why do people bother with obvious trolls?

ya know billryan, there can be trolls on both sides of an issue.

edited to add: I think what everybody is missing here is that the system of APers (Dancer, Arc, others) does not compete with the system of Singer. They are really apple and orange.

They have different purposes the way I see it.

I honestly don't understand what the hullabaloo is all about??

If you want to play the Dancer system (I call it Dancer since he is the best known) then play it. If you want to use the Singer method because you like his way of doing it, play it.

I look at the "Dancer system" as the method to get the most play for the buck over time. I look at the "Singer system" as the method to reach a certain win goal with taking a bigger "gamble" along the way.

Seriously, I don't get why some people get all worked up over the way someone else chooses to spend their hard earned money.

Because they want to get all worked up. Arguing about VP is a hobby to them.
I perceive much of this discussion to be likened to a "paradigm shift," which is used to describe a profound change in some of the basic or fundamental assumptions (ie., The world was flat as opposed to being round, or the planets revolving around the earth rather than the sun in the pre-Galileo era, etc) as it pertains to VP. I like to keep an open mind about things and I'll be the first to admit that I'm learning valuable information from both camps.

We're men. We've been programmed through thousands of millenia that if we ignore a pissing contest some new cro-magnon is going to start peeing all over us.

No avoidance of reality going on here. This is obviously 100% accurate.

LOL. Possibly a more accurate assessment then Snidely's. But probably not thousands of millenia.

There is NO real debate because virtually all VP strategy are near identical. Bob Dancer and Dan Paymar - who don't like each other very much - have almost identical stratgies. And their strategies are just about the same as those of the Wizard of Odds (Michael Shackleford) and Wolf Software and WinPoker and Jean Scott and Frank Kneeland. Any differences all of the above have are on minor issues such as the value of penalty cards.

There is one notable exception, Mr. Singer, and he stands out because he is a charlatan who tells some people what they really want to hear.

And by the way, paytables matter. Playing dollar 8/5 Jacks or Better instead of 9/6 at 600 hands per hour will cost a player on average about $70. Not a smart move, but then again, advantage players are very grateful to people like you. Without you, the jucier pay tables, plus the cash back, mailers, and drawings, would cease to exist.

Here we have another AP'er who is on the internet posting about charlatans instead of sitting in a casino making easy money. Ap'ers make money plain and simple, why would anyone who could make such easy money not be in a casino at least 15 hours a day?
