I just don't see this fast food worker being worth $15/hr(non-Vegas)

Good luck with that in a few years, Seattle.

Retail stores are already moving to self check kiosks, to minimize the number of checkout personnel. In time McDonalds and other QSRs will move toward you filling out your meal request at a terminal and only 1 or 2 people will be at the counter to give you your order.

Paying $15 an hour will expedite that transition. An additional problem will be the person who currently makes $15 an hour will now want $23 an hour & so forth up the chain, which will create higher costs and prices.
I'm just wondering if Burger King has seen the video?
Just remember who pays for those increases.

Me pay a whopping $15 for a burger? I think not.

Who said she, or any fast food worker makes $15 an hour? Just asking.

She does need a serious smack-down put on her, though.

$15 per hour is going to be the new minimum wage in Seattle.

So what?
We NEED more middle class people.
Maybe the "tip" will go away.
Take from the rich and give to the poor?
Kinda.
Great news a higher minimum wage means fewer people on the government programs so many of you profess to hate. There is also the larger economic picture to look at and that is people with disposable income tend to stimulate the economy by spending their money. The future is a Mc Job for many of you. If not yourself your kids or grand-kids will end up working this type of job because that is all there will be for them to work. You would be surprised how many of those fast food workers and retail workers have a college degree.

If this was such a good idea and would benefit so many people, why wasn't it implemented immediately? Do it now! Right now! Force every employer to pay that wage today. Spreading it out over 4 years doesn't make any sense if it is nothing but good for the economy, right?

...the people who promote this crap have no idea what it actually costs a small business to employ someone. Unemployment insurance costs money. Workers Comp insurance costs money. Forced health insurance costs money. FICA taxes cost money. It is very likely that small (and large) businesses that pay minimum wage for unskilled and/or training positions are already spending $15/hour or more to employ people at that level. Raising the base cost to provide jobs at the lowest pay scale will not help the people who need and want those jobs. The jobs will vanish. More welfare dependents, or even worse, more homeless people.

I've owned several businesses. I've written many pay checks. Whenever the government forces a business to reduce business income by increasing employee costs, cuts will be made. Those cuts will be jobs.
BobOrme- You are spot on with your comments. The idiots who decided that raising the minimum wage to $15 have no clue as to the effect it will have on small businesses and local economies.
