I-PAD'ers

I bought an iPad 2 a couple months ago & love it! My laptop is sitting on my desk collecting dust.

If you do get one, my suggestion is to do a google search for the best apps. You will find a lot of info about different apps that you might not know about just browsing through the app store.

The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the touch keyboard, but Brookstone has a nice case with a small wireless keyboard that a lot of people like.
My Ipad is also with me and just was on my recent Las Vegas trip for 6 nights at Aria.
Flying US Airways out of Philly with no movies and the IPad comes to the rescue.
BTW there are a lot of Las Vegas Apps.MGM has one for most of their hotels.
All this "Ooh's" and "Ahh's" about the ipad are making me sick (LOL). The ipad is basically a bigger version of the iphone. First, the ipad can't fit in your pocket, the iphone can. Second, the ipad can't make a phone call, the iphone can. Third, the ipad can't text message someone, the iphone can. Fourth, the ipad has optional 3G/4G service for an additional cost, the iphone requires 3G/4G services. Also, if you do a lot of typing the ipad uses a "hunt and peck" method unless as someone stated previously that you'd need to get a keyboard. For half the cost it'd be better to go with a netbook and with the money you save you could use it for an unlimited 3G/4G service.

A ton of helpful reply's,thanks everyone. I'm pretty sure i want to get a basic ipad with 64gb,wi-fi. I dont care at all about 3g service as i can easily live with just finding a hot spot somewhere. I'm not really sure what kind of apps i would really want right now, probably games and news to start. With over 90k to choose from,i have no clue what i would really want. If you don't mind sharing, what apps do some of you have? I'm still researching but all the input i've gotten here has been alot more helpful than all the other reviews i've read so far out there(except for the ever present"why don't you google it")one.
A few more questions and sorry if they sound totally retarded.Do i need an app to get on here(LVA) or,say the pittsburgh post-gazette?. Or is everything the same as just getting online like my PC?

It's like being on a PC. Apple's internet search app is Safari, which is preloaded, which also has a Google shortcut. You can make any web screen an "app" on your home screen so you can jump right to the page.

Thx erin, yea,i'm understanding it a lot better now. One of the preloaded apps i thought was kind of goofy was the "i lost my ipad, where is it?" app. If you lost it how the hell are you supposed to see it? LOL. I'm sure theres some rhyme to it,but struck me funny.

I'm curious, are there no other tablet users here beside apples? Out of all the reviews i've read so far, never seem to see much on any others.

You can call up a map on your home PC and it will show you where the iPad is currently located. You can then remotely lock the iPad which will require a password to access its contents. You can also send a message to the iPad, and then finally wipe it clean.

Some of the news applications, like USA Today, makes it easier and faster to browse the news using the iPad than using their normal web page. They have basically just redesigned it to take better advantage of the iPad, but you can use either the dedicated application or the web browser.

Thx,i figured there was someway to find it,just thought it was funny.
I'm getting a pretty good grasp of the apps/browser and what to expect out of it. I'm still wondering how people go about picking what apps they want with over 90,000 out there, amazing?

Some of my fave apps: Pandora, angry birds, glow hockey, ESPN, iOdds, idiot test, table tennis, FML,

Safari is not a search engine. It is an web page browser like Firefox or Internet Explorer.
